Ashford car parking

Ok so following on from my query over Ashford Travelodge, has anyone parked at the train station?

I've never been there so have no idea what the layout is? Is it a multi-story or just fenced? I'm a bit concerned if our (fairly new and quite expensive) car will be secure whilst we're away. I emailed the car park company and they just said in the reply that the car parks were covered by CCTV.

Also has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn and had the package which includes parking? I wonder if this maybe a small extra price to pay if the car is a bit more secure and looked after!

It's multi storey. I thought it was safe and secure you need a ticket to get your car out and CCTV. You should park on a certain level I think it's 5 as that's the one which have a covered walk way to the terminal. Someeone please correct me if I got the level wrong.

The car park at the Holiday Inn is next to the road so at night I wouldn't think it's very safe at all. The Eurostar carpark seems a lot more secure but it's pricey.

If you're happy to leave your car at a hotel car park then you might want to consider the Premier Inn at Orbital Park (It's the Ashford Central one)

They will let you leave your car there (may shake the charity box at you but that's it) and it's only a £5 taxi fare to the station (a little more if you're leaving before 7am as we did on our first trip)

We've managed to get £29 rooms twice (March and our return night in October) but did have to pay £48 for the 'on the way' night this time round. Was still worth it though as even with breakfast (£15 more for 2 adults and up to 4 kids) it about £110 for 2 nights at the hotel, 2 mornings breakfast, parking and taxis and the holiday inn would have been not much less than that for 1 night.

I've parked at both the Holiday Inn and at Ashford International and I can confirm that both are covered by CCTV. The train staiton carpark is quite expensive at £11.50 per day but is barrier-controlled and handy for a quick getaway on your return.

However for approx £90, you get upto 7 days parking, a hotel room, a good buffet breakfast (the sausages are to die for!!) and a return taxi to and from the station, the Holiday is is good value for money. I've stayed there and left the car several times without any issues. Indeed, you car can be stolen or vandalised anywhere (even at secure car parks).
