We travel by eurostar on the direct service, i have never used the Eurostar or tunnel and haven't a clue what we are doing and looking for some answers to my questions.

1. Easy carpark easy to find and how far is it to the station
2. When at the station do you have to go through security checks like at airports, how long does that take.
3. What time should we be parking at if the train goes at 9.30 am approx?
4. Do we take out luggage on the train with us? where is it stored?
5. What is there to do at the station?

1-Not sure never parked here just been dropped off.

2-Its taken me less then 5 mins go through security as we always arrive as soon as check in opens, might take slightly longer if lots of people check in at the same time.

3-You can check in 30mins before the train leaves.

4-You take your luggage on the train and it can be stored at either end of the carriage in the storage section, small cases and bags and buggys can be placed in the over head racks above your seats.

5-There is a little cafe, newsagents and a play area for the kids.

I hope that helps, we love Ashford International.

Also add that you can only go down to the train platform 15mins before the train arrives.

With regards to parking, we found it easy to find-if your parking in the multi storey theres a tunnel over the road which leads you into the station.

Then over on the station theres tickect machines to pay for the parking on your ways out.

There a map Here which shows the parking.

Hi

I've used Ashford loads - its better than Ebbsfleet imho.

1. Easy carpark easy to find and how far is it to the station

Very easy to find - its a multi storey, just follow signs for parking.
Then there is a walkway to the station, goes over a bridge, good signage from the carpark.

2. When at the station do you have to go through security checks like at airports, how long does that take.
Security - you have a passport check and a luggage xray, plus a walk thru arch like at the airport. Does not take long. Sometimes you get frisked if you set the beepers off but its only ever going to be something like keys or belt setting it off.

3. What time should we be parking at if the train goes at 9.30 am approx?
I am the queen of contingency time and would allow at least one hour 30 for check in so would want to be parking the car no later than 8 am. You may wish to leave longer. (I would - but I am pathologicaly early for everything)

4. Do we take out luggage on the train with us? where is it stored?
Yes you just take it on with you and put it into the luggage racks near the doors of the train. Make sure it is labelled.

5. What is there to do at the station?
Ashford's quite good in that there is a good cafe with lots of seating at proper tables and chairs. There's also lots of 'airport style' seating. There's a shop selling magazines and books, guidebooks, sweets, usual travel odds and sods. Its not enormous, but it is bigger and better than Ebbsfleet.
