What are you favorite things to do and budget tips for an adult only trip to Asheville? We are going in early November. We plan to visit the Biltmore and explore the downtown area.

I believe they have some tours/areas set up from The Hunger Games movie from when they filmed there, if you're into that sort of thing. I'd definitely take more than one day to explore Biltmore though, it's really fantastic and I've been dying to go back!

If you are doing the Biltmore House then I highly reccommend paying the few extra dollars for the audio tour. There is so much on there that you would not know about on your own. Enkoy your trip!

Don't miss, French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Early Girl Eatery, and though its not downtown, the Sunny Point Cafe is fabulous for breakfast. But be prepared for a wait if you aren't there early.

It's so cheesy, but we took a trolley tour and that was a good way to see the high points to decide what else to see. The French Broad Arts district is neat if you are an artsy kind of couple.

Behind the Scenes Tour at the House are worth every penny you pay. We have done several of them. You see areas not open to the public. If you can wait until the house is decorated for Christmas. Spectacular decorations!

I second the audio tour. Definitely worth the money! Plus I like that it's a self-guided tour so you can cut it short or skip something if for some reason you're not interested. I did the whole thing with my parents when I was about 12-13 and loved it though.

There is a winery at the Biltmore with tasting.

And a pub cycle that tours Asheville (I have never done this but seems cool, although I'm not a beer drinker)

You "may" get to see it decorated for Christmas!
I think its Nov & Dec
I would drive on the Blue Ridge parkway a bit-beautiful views!

Thanksgiving week 2013 we were in Asheville,N.C. (actually our DD and family are hoping to move there)....had the best buffet dinner at Pack's Tavern...nice piano music & singing...on turkey day....

The stores didn.t open early on Black Friday and no big sales to speak of in the downtown area....loved the Arts District & friendly people there...and yes take a drive along the Blue Ridge parkway......

You should also check out The Grove Park Inn. It's a beautiful historic hotel. Eat a meal there if you have time. Horizons is a fantastic experience. Expensive, but excellent. I'm actually having a hard time thinking of anything else fun or exciting right now, I'm actually from a small town right outside of Asheville, and when you've lived there your whole life, nothing really seems interesting anymore. If you have specific questions though, I'd be happy to answer them :)

I'm local so we never spend the night but the beer bus tour is fun and not very expensive. If you or you SO like beer that is.
