After a nice looooong nap, I try and get everyone rolling again.
Since we got back to our room around 2:30, it was now 5:30 so if we left soon we would still have plenty of park time. Magic Kingdom closes at midnight tonight. Maybe we can close out the park.

The kids get up, I dress Brenne--being mindful of her pixie dust, and then we rouse daddy.

We make it back to the park by 6:30.

Over to Frontierland to check times for Splash Mountain. 120 minute wait. I suggest to Neth that we try to ride it during the parade instead and he is okay with that. We go to the Country Bear Jamboree instead.

Yay! Country Bears. This show is so hokey and silly, it really cracks me up.

The theatre is packed and we are about five rows from the back.

Some teens sit down in front of us and one of the boys turns around and says "Oh, maybe I should duck down some so the little man (meaning Neth, who didn't like being called little man) can see." I looked straight at him and his friends and with a completely serious look I said, "It would be better if you just sat on the floor." He looked so shocked! The kid started to actually sit on the floor!!!! And then I started laughing and said "Nah, just kidding. He can see just fine." The teens all breathed a collective sigh of relief. There was one girl with them and she was laughing at him "I thought she was serious. Did you see the look on her face?"

The poor kid still sat hunched down throughout the show.

Brenne loves the Country Bears and she clapped along through the show. We really enjoyed it.

When it was over and we exited we couldn't find the stroller.

It took us a good five minutes before we figured out we had parked it on the other side of the building. We were ready to report it as stolen!

With the stroller in tow, we cut through the shortcut between Frontierland and Adventureland. We decided to go see the Enchanted Tiki Room, another of the kids favorites. Brenne knows almost every song, so throughout the show she was singing and dancing along.

After the show, I had everyone sit on a low wall so I could get a picture and a nice gentleman insisted I sit up there too so he could take our picture. He had never used a digital camera before, so it took a couple of tries. We got a nice family pic out of it.

We went to ride Pirates of the Caribbean, with a 20 minute wait. Both sides were open, so we went to the left since most everyone was going in through the right. We got some dirty looks from people entering on the right. Is it considered cutting to go around the line and enter through the left side? Only a few people followed us to enter through the left side, almost everyone else stayed in the line to go through the right!? I didn't get it.
I don't think it cut down on our wait time any though, to go through the left line.

We got the front row of the boat, the kids loved that! Especially going down the waterfall!!!

Once the ride was over and we were in the gift shop, Brenne had to try on every pirate hat, play with every sword, pistol, pair of handcuffs! She is so silly.

Everyone was hungry, so we walked across the way to El Pirata y el Perico for some pretty decent Mexican food. There we proceeded to stuff ourselves. I had the taco salad, which was yummy!

Since we had been unable to get Fastpasses for Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain RR, we decided to hop on the train and go to Toontown. We parked the stroller right outside the entrance to Big Thunder Mountain, since you can't take them on the train.

Once in Toontown, DH headed for one of his favorite rides--Goofy's Barnstormer. It's a fun little coaster, only lasts around 35 seconds. I think it is funny that it is one of DH's favorites. Either he is a big ride weenie or he is just a big kid. I opt for the former.........

Brenne throws her hands up in the air and giggles like crazy, with me holding on to her. Don't want her flying out. We were in the very last car, DH and Neth were three cars ahead of us.

After crashing down thru Goofy's barn and scaring all the chickens, the kids wanted to go play in Donalds boat.

They pulled on the horn and got sprayed with water......

By now, we are fast approaching 10pm---time for Wishes.
So we walk around into Fantasyland to find a spot to view them. I knew that they were shot from multi directions around the castle, but didn't really know where a good spot would be from back here. A large section of Fantasyland was roped off, closed down, and CM's had sprayed it down with water as a precaution. Should that have been a sign?

We joined a group of people by the rope near the carrousel, where a CM was talking to people about the show. DH and the kids sat on the ground.

Pretty soon, they announced that most of the lights would be turned off and for people to please stay where they were during the show. And the lights went off.

Some music started to play, then Jiminy Cricket started to talk about wishes really coming true. He was joined the Blue Fairy. Then the fireworks started.

Man, did we pick the spot!!!!

From where we were, you don't see the whole show against the castle, as it was designed. Instead we were directly underneath it! Literally!

The shells are launched from several of the buildings in Fantasyland and Toontown.

I don't know if you can get any closer than we were.

The music for the show is incredible, as is the story and narration. The fireworks are timed perfectly for the story. And the colors correspond to who is narrating. It is amazing.

Everyone around us was oohing and aahing, laughing and pointing. The CM near us would direct us when to turn around to see a particular shot.

And we were being rained on.......................................................................................

by ashes!

I was standing with two women, and we were laughing and brushing the ashes out of each others hair! It was funny, even when I got some in my eye I still thought it was fun. Neth got an eyeful too!

We just really had an amazing time and everyone in that group, I don't know. Everyone talking and laughing together and being so nice and friendly and sharing. Very nice.

When the show was over, applause broke out. Everyone was saying goodnight to each other.

We had to wait a few minutes while a team of CM's checked the perimeter to make sure there were no sparks or small fires.

Then, since the kids still wanted to ride some attractions we went to check out the time for Tomorrowland Indy Speedway.

With a wait of only 20 minutes, we hopped into line. During the day, the line can be as long as Splash Mountains!

Neth wanted to drive his own car, Brenne wanted to ride with Mommy (aaawww), so that left DH to drive his own Indy speedcar.

Neth was first into a car and he took off. DH was in the lane next to Brenne and me. I let her drive..............Brenne is not a good driver! No, we were both kind of laughing like crazy because she couldn't keep the wheel straight. I controlled the speed, so I would speed up and slow down, then blame her for it. She thought it was really funny. We saw daddy on the track next to us, so I told her we needed to race him. So we did! She thought that was fun too. Although at one point she got so focused on waving to daddy, she completely forgot to steer.

Even though I think the Speedway seems like an odd (ordinary) attraction to have at WDW, I can see now why people love it. The kids really had a blast on it.

My only complaint is that when we pulled back in to the station to park, the teens behind us decided it would be fun to play crash up derby. I actually yelled at the boy who kept doing it when we were exiting, because Brenne's head kept flying forward.

Still ready for more rides, we walked back through Fantasyland to get to the Haunted Mansion. It is pretty creepy at night and neither kid was really anxious to ride. A wolf was howling and we could hear thunder (or was that our minds playing tricks on us?). It scared the bejeebers out of Neth just walking through the line. He got mad at us and said he wouldn't ride with daddy or me! I thought he was going to pass out once we entered the first room, and after a brief discussion he and daddy took the chicken exit. A creepy looking CM came up to Brenne and said "Well, we have one brave soul................" By the time Brenne and I got into our Doombuggy, we were the only ones on the ride. No one in front of us and no one behind us. I have to admit, I felt a little creeped out by that. But we made it through the ride, she likes the part with the dancing ghosts. And when the hitchhiking ghost sat in our car, she told him to "Go away!"

A castmember also followed us out, walking just a few steps behind us. Then as we reached DH and Neth (who funny enough were sitting by the pet cemetary!), he quietly asked "Did you enjoy your stay?" Neth did not like that and started walking briskly away! Then I said to Neth, "You realize you were sitting right by the pet cemetary?" He put his hands over his ears and told me to be quiet. He is so funny sometimes............

It was soon going to be parade time again, so we crossed a few ropes and got on the wooden walkway towards Splash Mountain. Since it was late, we were hoping for a short line.

Yay! Our timing paid off. Splash Mountain had a 15 minute wait, so we eagerly got in line. Brenne wasn't scared of getting wet this time. The line went quickly and once again Brenne rode with me. We were in the very back of the log. This is a fun ride and even better at night.

The parade had started, so during the outside parts of the ride, we were even able to see part of Spectromagic. And thankfully, none of us got soaked because it was starting to get chilly again.

After that, the kids wanted to ride Big Thunder Mountain RR. I just didn't have the strength to go on, so I sent everyone without me. I happily sat on the ground beside the stroller.

They didn't have a long wait here either. With two of Neth's favorite rides finally done, everyone was ready to head back to the room. It was now midnight.

As we trudged down Main Street, DH thought we could stop for ice cream. But the other 30,000 people there at MK had the same idea. The Ice Creamery was packed! So we decided to skip it. We could get a Mickey bar another day. We even thought about heading into the Confectionary, something we do every trip, but we didn't. No strength left.

It seems our bus was missing. It was thirty minutes before one came to pick up guests for OKW, so we didn't get back to our room until 1:15. We all fell right into bed.............

Thanks for sharing - don't think I would be too thrilled with the HM at night either - you are a brave soul :)
