ASBO Tinkerbell - ME (Claire)
DH - Husband (Neil)
The alarm went off at 5:30 and I pulled myself out of bed - I normally jump but I'd only managed 3 hours sleep and wasnt feeling great!!!!
Dad arrived at 6:30, we packed up the car and headed for Manchester airport. We had already checked in online so headed for bag drop. No offer of transfering due to full flight this time - boooooooo!! Straight through security (it was really quiet) and off for a bit of brekkie. I had sausage on toast and DH had a full english - £16.82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had a wander round Duty Free and for the first time EVER, came out purchase free!!!! Went and found the plane/gate and it was the same plane we had in October 'Virginia Plain'. Just chilled at the gate with a magazine whilst we waited to board.
When we were finally called, it was madness at the gate - you couldnt get there as everyone just crowded round. We stood behind people for about 10-15 mins without moving before we realised that they were just standing around. No matter how many times staff told people to move from the gate unless it was their turn to board - NOONE moved!! Virgin need to try and sort this out as it is not the first time!!!
We were in seats 64a & 64c which are the very last 2 seats on the plane. I found these had great leg room and didnt have to worry about reclining - lol!!
I was extremely tired and the flight was already 1hour 15 mins late. On taxi to the runway I fell asleep and completely missed takeoff!!! HOW????? How did I sleep through a jumbo taking off!!!!!!
Lots of Turbulence throughout the flight, seat belt signs on & off every 30 mins or so, very bumpy indeed!!
Anyway flight time was 9hours 20mins - dont remember the last time it took over 9 hours and we finally landed in Orlando at 3:30pm - 1 hour late.
Security/immigration was extremely fast, our bags were waiting and no queue at the car hire desk. We both agree this is the fastest we have ever got through MCO.
We picked our car up - PT Cruiser in Grey - why do we always get a grey or white car - lol!!!!!
Drove to our first hotel of the trip - Fairfield Inn, LBV, checked in no problem and have a lovely pool view room on the 3rd floor.
Dropped the bags, headed to Ponderosa (starving), nipped in Walmart for some drinks, Bud lite and more pj's. We were going to nip into Bahama Breeze for my Bahamarita (mmmmmmm) but we were soooo tired, we just came back to the room, showered and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!
Tomorrow - BUSCH GARDENS.
