What will you be doing?

I'm off on Wednesdays so I might sneak out to watch the MK fireworks (the FW beach is a great place, and open to everyone). I might decide to go out drinking though if the fancy strikes me.

Besides wishing I were watching the Fireworks too????

Hopefully I'll be wrapped in a sheet drinking a Mojito:rolleyes1

Since it is the middle of the week I might be a geek that day

Transformers the movie and playing City of Heroes.

Having grown up in Detroit and the awsome displays of fireworks that was put on by Detroit and Windsor (Canada) as part of the yearly Freedom Festival, fireworks down here in Atlanta are boring.

TRANSFORMERS!

Living in Texas I obviously can't go to any of the Disney Parks to watch the Fireworks
AND
Once you've seen "Wishes" or "Illuminations" everything else pales in comparisons...So I might as well enjoy no lines at the theater...popcorn::

Working in the morning and a bbq at the nieghbors house if I am awake enough for it..LOL

I may take Monday & Tuesday off to habe a long weekend! Though with the way things are at work - that may not be possible. We're having a BBQ on Wednesday, will have friends over.

I'll be wearing red, white and blue. I'm sure I'll either spend some time in the pool or finally get back out to the beach. In the evening, I'll head to the big crowd on the south side of the island and watch the fireworks on White Street pier. They will not measure up to Disney, but I only hold Disney to such high standards. Here's an idea: Disney could send pyrotechnical teams to various points around the country to throw amazing fireworks shows on the Fourth of July. If your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme.
:wizard:

I've seen the Disney fireworks many times. I see them for every holiday and I have for the past 8 years. That being said I havent been to Key West in about 12 years. We just might have to make a road trip!!

Now to find a cheap hotel LOL...

Just checked my schedule, I'm only working a half day on the 4th!

Woo Hoo! Now I gotta make plans!

Poolside BBQ. Will be grillin' ribs with the famous secret sauce (that includes the best Irish whiskey) along with some steamed clams, and maybe crab legs, corn on the cob, salt potatoes and pitchers of whatever I feel like mixing at the moment. Gin and tonics are nice, so are martinis, mojitos and Rum Swizzle THE punch of Bermuda.

Not sure about fireworks. Will be having company (the Boys are comin'! :teeth: ) and not too sure if anyone will be in any shape to drive by that time.

Wanna' come?

Ohh, can I come? I'm thinking the beach in general will be a little far for me, especially if I bring a cooler :drinking1

My plans are finally firming up some now...
I will probably go to the town parade (maybe ALONE:sad1: -- right now it looks like everybody else over the age of 6 in the family will be working). It's a GREAT small town parade -- Lions Club, 4-H, and VFW floats; politicians I'd never vote for a minute, shaking my hand and thanking me for my support; mountain-men causin' commotion; a raggedy partial high-school band(the best musicians have all graduated; a few 8th graders will be trying hard -- but this is a whole new ball-game compared to middle school) or two; melty snow-cones -- I'll take a large Root-beer one, please; and finally at the tail-end the fire-trucks with their sirens blaring and their hoses on mist to cool us all down before we trudge off to wherever the heck we parked our cars. It's funny -- I always see something that makes me laugh, something that brings a tear or two to my eyes, and something that I NEVER expected to see (One time, it was a runaway Shriner's camel -- Holy Smokes!!! those critters are BIG!! and this one was seriously PO'D!!!:scared1: )
After my various sundry family members get off work -- we'll all head over to my son's house for a barbeque (Sorta :crazy2: -- we'll use his gas grill; pee-poor substitute for apple and mesquite wood if you ask me -- but what can you do? We're all under highly appropriate open burning restrictions to keep us from burning down the last of the trees.) There won't be any fireworks either -- for the same reason. I'm bringing a layered ice-box salad and some crock-pot ribs (maybe, with enough liquid smoke, they'll taste OK...)
If I'm lucky, my day will wind down with a sticky little kid sleeping in my lap -- while we all sip sweet tea on my son's back porch and talk quietly about Fourth of Julys past and other family stuff. On this otherwise unremarkable day you betcha I'll be thinking how lucky and blessed I am to be living in this country; free from need and danger and with the people I love.

Now I'm working. Anyone know how to get 60 hours of pay without actually working it? :rotfl2:
