We are going for a week in July 2006, we were looking at staying at ASMo but I was wondering would we like it better at the Swan or Dolphin :confused3 One of us that is going is a teacher and can get the teachers rate. We will range in age from 7yo to 50 yo and there will be 10 of us :earboy2: My family are the only ones that have ever been to WDW and we want everyone else to have a wonderful time

If the answer is the Swan 0r Dolphin which one of those is the best :confused3

Thanks for the help  :cool1: :flower:

Definitely the Swan/Dolphin anyday!! I've only stayed at the Swan so I cannot comment on the Dolphin but they are both beautiful hotels and have everything! The Heavenly Beds are wonderful!!!! I've stayed on alot of Disney property and the beds here are the best by far!!!! They are so plush and comfortable and you will get a good night's sleep...something that could not be accomplished for me on the other beds.
The Swan is smaller than the Dolphin and has a more quiet and intimate feel to it. The Dolphin is a very active hotel and has alot more restaurants there but it's just a walk from the Swan.
I prefer that the Swan has queen beds where the Dolphin has double beds. I know alot of posters have said it's not that much of a difference but it just depends where you want to stay.
Epcot and MGM are just a walk away or you can take the boat. To get to the other parks you can use the Disney shuttle buses.
I'll be leaving tomorrow and I can't wait!!!!!! :cool1:

One more thing I forgot to mention---the pool! It is huge and I just found out that they are running outdoor activities at the pool which I cannot wait to partake in as last year it was not available.

Definitely the Swan and Dolphin!! The resorts are beautiful and the location cannot be beat! The pool is also amazing. Love, love, love the heavenly beds!! We've stayed at the Swan once and the Dolphin twice and I think I rather the Swan because it is smaller.

Since you've been to both the Swan and Dolphin I wanted to ask....are the decor and layout of the rooms the same or do they both have their own distinct design?

Thanks for the input  Now I'll have to E-mail pictures to everyone else that is going and say, hey for just a little bit more each night we can stay here

It definitely is worth it because you have to bear in mind, your debating in staying at a ASM which is a value resort compared to the Swan or Dolphin which is a deluxe. It's definitely worth the extra $$$$

Another vote for the Swan....you'll love the beds, the pool, the access to all the different restaurants, and the proximity to Epcot and MGM, with Friendship boats to take you there.

Also, 2 sinks in each room at the Swan (I don't think the Dolphin has that) + in room coffee and a daily newspaper. And it'll be much, much quieter than a value resort.

Have fun--you will not regret it!!

I like the Dolphin. Either one is WAAAAAAY better than AS. I won't stay at AS & the Dolphin is my favorite WDW resort. To me they're not even in the same Library, much less the same page.

I'll be at the Swan in one more day and I can't wait!!!!! I'm looking forward to all these new pool activities.

Definitely the Swan or Dolphin. I've stayed at both and they are both great. They are a deluxe resort, in every since of the word. The best though is the location! You can walk to Epcot and walk/boat to MGM. Grab the teacher rate while you can. It's not always available.

DisneyFans4--The big difference in the layout of the Swan is the bathroom and closet areas. The Swan's bathroom is much bigger but the closet is probably a little smaller. I like the Swan layout a little bit better. The Dolphin has a much more impressive lobby, but I like the smaller layout of the Swan. It's easier to get from one place to another.

I've stayed at the Dolphin once and AS once. I LOVED the location of the Dolphin. Quick trip to EPCOT, MGM, and right next door to the Boardwalk (great for a breakfast or dinner). There was nothing wrong with the AS but if it's a comparable price, I think the Dolphin (or Swan!) is a much better choice.

Have a great stay either way!

Sherri-
Thanks for that info on the layout of the hotels. I was always curious if they were much different.
Well...I'm excited. I'm in for a surprise and I don't know what it is. I confirmed my ressie on Friday and the manager told me I have a surprise waiting. Imagine how this is killing me!!!!! Some of you may recall my previous posts where I said management treated us so well last year since my DH and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniv. so maybe this is an anniv. gift. I also did mention that our oldest son just graduated high school in June so who knows. All I know is that I can't wait!!!!!!! :cool1:

May I ask if you've already found the teacher's rate available for next July or if you're just hoping to be able to get it? (I hope to find it for next summer, myself!)

Thanks.

They run the teacher's rate all the time so you may even try giving them a call and I'm sure they will give it to you.
