Ok, resort changers...i need your help!

I have a trip planned for 10 days after thanksgiving. The first 5 days is with my mom at POFQ and the second 5 is with my DH for our anniversary at Coronado, both have free dining which i upgraded to deluxe. To make a long story short, i have been going back and forth about switching mom to Coronado too so that i dont have to switch resorts. Now DH is having second thoughts about Coronado!

Our last stay (me and DH) was 2010 and we were spoiled staying at CR with a lovely pin code. Now the idea of riding buses everywhere is making DH not so thrilled with Coronado. So I ran the numbers to stay at the dolphin for the entire 10 days (AAA rate plus shuttle to resort and the extra fees, plus tickets) and estimated the cost of paying out of pocket for the ADRs that we made....and it comes out to be about 50 bucks more to stay at the dolphin. The only thing we wouldn't get would be all the extra snacks that are included with the deluxe dining and i am not sure we need them because we were ridiculously stuffed last time we did deluxe.


So opinions time! Do i do POFQ and Coronado, All Coronado, or all Dolphin. Also, what are your experiences on bus services from POFQ and Coronado?

If it helps any, we have done the Dolphin before, but never the other two resorts. As for our planned days, we aren't doing AK and will only be doing MK for one day out of each 5.

Hi Kelly,
Have you considered doing all POFQ? It's a really nice resort. POFQ's quick service is good, (I like to get coffee from there in the am), has a great pool and the bus stop is close to everything. I think the size of POFQ helps make that resort a real time saver. It would be nice to keep your upgraded dining.

Just our experience, we didn't find Coronado very convenient at all. I do know there are folks who love it, though.

The Epcot area is beautiful, you've mentioned another good option at the Dolphin.

Do you enjoy the Dolphin? If you do then I might just stay there. Especially since most of your days will be at Epcot or HS. If POFQ is sharing buses with POR that might be a lot of stops and of course CS has a lot of stops. Now that being said it wouldn't bother me. I've never stayed at POFQ but have stayed at POR and loved it, also stayed at CS and really enjoyed my stay. I never seem to be any help since I always enjoy my resort experience no matter where I stay. If you do decide to stay at the Dolphin make sure you get your Starwood points.

pas - great RC. Looks like you will be getting into RPC at a pretty decent time considering all of the work planned for the rest of the year. Did you see this yet?

Jungle Cruiser - not that it really matters but we are CL at the Poly. I forgot to add that when I added my dates. Great job on the list! Hope you are feeling well.

I just got a call from the ENT. After seeing the Xrays, they referred DS straight to the plastics guy. Hopefully it is just a precautionary measure. He is doing really well today. My DS7 said he looks awesome, like a guy from Avatar.

Thanks for the quick responses! I dont know how to quote both of you in one post, so i will just respond to both at once.

I had chose POFQ to begin with because it seemed to be a smaller resort, but i couldn't book both trips there because they didnt have a king room at the time. DH is 6'4, a big guy, so a king bed is the only way he likes to go. Might be something to look into again now that time has passed.

As for the dolphin, yes we really enjoyed our stay. It was great just walking out the door and having a boat there to take us to our destinations! And yes we already signed up the their points system.

It is a surprise trip for my mom, she definitely deserves it! But, i am not telling her until a month before the trip so i cant really get any input from her.

We are home with good news! Lily has been cleared for Disney. We were given the option of going back before or after our trip and I chose to go before so that I can go on vacation with a clear mind and not stress about it while we are away.

The other victim was actually my DS 6 and he was fine. Not a mark on him. Hard head! I realize now that I said it weird. I think I may have said other kid? I don't even remember. I was just freaking out about DS 9 and wasn't in my right mind. Anyway, all is well with him.
