I'm so far behind... I don't even know where Pas is staying at the moment It's different being at a work where I can't get online, lol. I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday and I'll catch up!

I'm debating staying on property one or two nights during my trip to get EMH. My Mystic Dunes is already prepaid, but I would just pay extra and have 2 homes, lol. Too much? DH said he didn't care. If I stay Sunday night, I can get EMH for Sunday and Monday. Should I wait until check in to see if I like the place?? My nerves are getting the best of me. Then the next question.... where? This is where I need your help

I didn't even think about the BB. Great suggestion! I'll be on the lookout.

I'm thinking about changing an 8 day CSR reservation (with 9 day MYW tickets) to a Poly/BC split stay (4 nights at each). However, this will depend largely on type and availability of discounts (trip is planned for Dec. 8-16).

The first half of the split would be room + tickets + dining, with the same 9 day MYW tickets (so as to cover the whole trip). Upon arrival at WDW, we'd upgrade one MYW ticket to an AP. The second half of the split would be a ticketless AP room + dining package (we're big fans of the DxDP).

Our room did get serviced. Yay! All is good but that CM could sure use some training!

Totally cool thing happened tonight. Lightning storm so bad the MK went dark. As in you couldnt even see it or like 5 to 10 minutes. Pretty cool to see. Hope everyone is ok!

I posted and ran from the CL thread. Had to get DD off to school, DH off to work and myself off to the gym and grocery shopping.

I know what that pictures's going to be - I skipped ahead to the ending!

I am here!! I just vowed I wasn't coming back until I made a definite move with my trip plans!! Too embarassed to talk about it all again!!
Everything still the same...just waiting because I am thinking maybe soon the 2013 rates will come out. Last year we had an amazing free dining offer for canadians come out pretty early on.

DH is happy because he realized that when we upgrade to AP's in September we will have park hoppers then! I am just hoping that it is true we will just have to pay the difference between what our 10 day MYW tix are worth now, and the AP price.

Very hot here the past couple of days....but I love it!

Rise and Shine! It's Monday....and soooooo feels like it, too Here's a little sunshine to get you started....



Even the CR can be relaxing and beautiful in its own way. Actually, any Disney resort at 6:15am is beautiful! Early mornings are my very favorite times at WDW...for obvious reasons....super quiet...no people. And for anyone who likes photography just a little, it's the perfect opportunity to get wonderful, easy shots.

Tried to do online check-in this morning but my computer's firewall is blocking something and won't let me sign-on to the Disney site....weird! Wish I knew what the problem was

It must be blocking cookies. Just turn it off and you should be able to log-on.

Gorgeous view of the Bullseye pool and cabanas. I wonder why only the monorail resorts have cabanas for rent?

Now, what did you mean by "Even the CR?" I think it's the second most relaxing and beautiful resort at WDW. But, I know that many just hate it or find it too.... contemporary

HRH is 7 and changes her mind...will it get worse, uh oh...look at me...it does it worse So AoA/WL....really....I like it...but IDK if it will stick...you know heather will come back with a rockin AKL CL reivew...just sayin...



Sorry...all I can say is DO NOT do CL! It spoils the WHOLE family...except those budget watching DHs that don't get it...well Kook's hubby gets it

I have to show that comment to DH. And, I know what he'll say, "I only love WL CL, I don't love ALL CLs. All CLs are not created equal." It also helps that he loves WL, so if you don't love the resort, you're probably not going to like it much more just because you stay CL.

I'm really worried now that you think my AoA split won't stick because I REALLY thought it would stick. Of course, I really thought all the other split resorts would stick, didn't I? AKL/CL isn't available for our dates, but weren't you sort 'meh' about it? What made you change? I did have AKL/CL booked waaaaay back in November. I've also had CR, VWL, RPC, and YC booked. I'm not sure how AoA fits in there. I got DH excited about the new suite and two bathrooms and he loves the food court menu. But, now that some reviews are trickling in, I'm worried about noisy hallways, the really slow food service (no beepers) and hordes of people at the pool fighting over the cone cabanas! I'm thinking Poly might even be more desirable at this point. Oh, no, what is happening to me

Pas Your so right. My kids are the ones that push for CL. My dh can take it or leave it. It's better not to get your kids used to it.

That's funny, it's the complete opposite at my house. DH loves it and it used to be that DD had to have CL, but now she actually said she'd rather not. She doesn't like that DH has to have his cobbler in the lounge every evening and she loves a hot breakfast on vacation. So I end up booking some breakfast ADRs and DD skipped dessert time almost every night our last visit. I'm sure this will change soon depending on her mood.

Kook, welcome to the world of teenage daughters. They are great, but sometimes I just couldn't believe some of what they would say. I got a great piece of advice that sure helped me. Never react to some of the things they say, just smile and don't engage. It frustrates the heck out of them, but they don't have any comeback. Wait until your daughter is a bit older, it's the best!!! Oh, and you know she is going to ask you why your aren't staying at a third resort at some point...she will have "forgotten" she thought is was an silly idea...

CL is an interesting option. My DH really likes it, however we are at a different stage in life than those of you with kids. Having spent hours over the years in line at Gaspirillas getting breakfast for everyone makes CL breakfast very appealing to him. We can also enjoy a drink and appetizers for a light dinner. He will supplement with a CS sandwich, but I am fine with the appetizers. When my kids were little, it wouldn't have been worth it, fun but not really practical.

Busy week, leaving for CA early Thursday morning. So excited to see my daughter graduate. Because of my illness I haven't been out there 5 years, I haven't even seen her current apt!

You crack me up and you're always right. Wish you would have been here this morning. I made a comment to DD about wearing a scarf today, something like, "You know it's really hot out today. Are you sure you need a scarf?" I couldn't resist. I should have known she'd completely change her outfit anyway after breakfast.

This trip to CA is going to mean so much to DD and you. I'm so glad you feel well enough to make that long trip. I know we'd all love to see some photos!

WDW meal: Practically anything from Tokyo Dining - as long as it included sushi, sashimi, seaweed salad and tempura!

Drink: A strong margarita on the rocks would be nice, thank you.

One dessert: Just one?? Ugh. The Chocolate Bombe at TTS is great, but I also love tiramisu at TI. Oh, and I always have to buy the chocolate covered marshmallows on a Mickey straw at the MSB.

This leads me to a question for all of you:

Where is your favorite place at WDW to eat ice cream?

If you're going to be living there soon, I'd skip the double room booking. You'll be able to go so often when you're living there, that you probably won't even care about EMH anymore. I'd save the onsite for a trip with DH instead.

Weak... Feeling very weak. Worried about not liking AoA - convinced family that we had to try it out before it fully opens - need more TripAdvisor and AllEars reviews of AoA to fuss over

All of the rooms will have been rehabbed by then - sounds like the perfect time to go and it will be all decorated later in the month

Yeah AP discounts (especially for the Poly) haven't exactly blown my socks off this year.

It's probably too much to hope for 40% off deluxe like last fall (especially at the Poly, where I'm guessing that last year it's availabity had lots of exclusions).

I'm guessing this fall it will be about 20% for Poly and 30% for BC (with many Poly dates and room categories not available for any discount at all). If that is the case and someone wants to stay garden view at the Poly, they're probably going to be better off with free dining, assuming its offered. And in that scenario, it makes the extra expense of deluxe versus moderate hard to justify IMO.

Bottom line: for me to stay deluxe, the money saved from a room discount (for the lowest priced room category) has to be greater than the money saved from free dining. This includes the Poly.

WOW!! Padawans! Wooohooo! I missed that one somewhere along the line! AKL CL....is.....in a word......AMAZING!!! my families favourite resort, we love, love, love....did I say, LOVE?? it!!!! If it weren't for needing 3 distinct sleeping arrangements this trip, we'd be back there most likely!! it's always our #1 choice, you know it's good when your teens ask to stay there regardless of the lame pool slide!! They actually even LOVE chilling in the AKL pool, could care less about the less-than-stellar slide!
I am still staying strong at the POLY for September! Gotta try that place out before all the big changes!

I told my DH that after this trip, we'll probably do London as a family (my brother is currently posted there with the CDN military and we save a bundle on accomodations if we stay with them.....also my hubby is British born, so would love to see his birth place and meet all his relatives!) BUT, after that trip, I gave him a heads up that I'll probably be back to either DL or WDW EVERY 18 months or so when our boys leave home....every YEAR if I can afford it!!! and also told him, if he doesn't want to join me , that's ok, I'll go with all my DIS DIVA Aka Lovely Lady friends!!!

know what he said to that???? That I'm going to get myself robbed and murdered one day, LOL I told him to not be silly....I love my girls!!! We've been friends for years!!! I know them better than some people I see every day!!! ......and I didn't care, I'd take my chances! so gals.....you gotta be gentle when we meet! No murder now, ok!

DH 's mind is too warped by working in law enforcement for so long! He still thinks friends made on the internet don't have real lives....or are all mass murderers or something!! no worries though, I told him I'd be meeting my ladies once my boys are gone for yearly DIS trips and I wouldn't take NO for an answer!! We'll be meeting one day....sooner or later Y'all!

Is there such a thing as definete trip plans? Don't be embarrassed. I know exactly how you feel. I'm not totally sure when I'll activate my Ap's. May 2013 and Oct 2013 are sure things. Do we go this Year? Should I hold off and save save save and sail on the Fantasy next year or just be happy with the Dream? Will I be able to make it back Spring of 2014 if I don't activate until May 2013? Easter is April 20 in 2014....yes I looked....Would I be able to make a trip back before Ap's expired on May 8...Hmm. These are all the questions I ask myself. No your not crazy. AP's are a big expense. If your going to spend the money I think you have to have a plan on how your going to use them.

I would do the 4 day cruise. 3 days is too short. 4 days is too short. You won't want to get off the ship I promise.

I believe that's the case for exchanging tickets over to APs. Over on the Parks forum, Cheshire Figment would be answer your AP question precisely; he's a guest services / ticketing CM. He was really helpful when I was contemplating doing the same.

Padawans is not at YC or GF. I'm back at BC October 25. I need guaranteed warm weather. I've seen WDW at Christmas, and I would rather not risk being stuck in one of those rare Orlando cold snaps. We spend so much time at the pool during our vacations I'm not sure what we would do if it was cold. I'm not sure why I changed to Dec....Oh yeah that was Dh's idea.

Well...the processing software that I use is very expensive and extremely difficult to navigate.......HA! What ia joke.....it's Photobucket and it's FREE or kind of...$30ish a year to have unlimited pictures or free with limited space. It's just basic editing tools that are self explanatory...nothing fancy.

Disney Restaurant???....hmmmmm....we really like all signatures. Too hard for me to choose. But the dessert would definitley be the bread pudding from Ohanas!!!!

"EVEN" means .......well.....I'm not sure what I meant. Let me see if I can redeem myself Just like you said...so many people think it's a bit cold and doesn't have that Disney feel. Perhaps I'm in the minority...to me it's one of the Disney icons.
