ok I will be the only vote for #2 I think that it puts the impact on the character which is what i think the person was looking to do since its a color emphasis on him. The first one doesn't draw you only to the character

i agree with all of these, the 1st looks better to me, if you are going for what gokenin said, could you blur it a little more? now it's just kind of unfocused looking and i think that is more distracting than the sharp version,.

Since selective coloring was used to isolate the character I like #1 better as the background is not blown out. In both I was drawn to the character first then noticed the background.

Now if no selective coloring was used then I would probably say #2 so the focus was more on the character. But for me.... #1 it is.

It looks like more was done to the background than just a blur. It looks blown out now. I like the idea of the blurred background though. You also should not blur the foreground.

I think you should fly me down there so I can get a better perspective of what you saw IRL in order to determine which one really looks better. Just let me know when and I'll check my schedule which as of now seems pretty open
