coming south to visit parents for a week. They’re meeting us up at Disney. We will have our 5yr old and 1yr old. Anyway we’re debating if for $50 is it a better deal to do pop or as music. We’re all basic folk who don’t need much but the renovation at pop looks nicer than music. (I’ve dont movies and LM AoA rooms before. Both were fine for us) but this will be my folks first Disney trip.

I've never stayed at ASmusic, but the new rooms at Pop are great! We loved them so much that we booked them again for October. I would definitely pay the extra $50 to stay there. Plus, you can walk over to AoA for different meals.

I've stayed at both and I have to be the dissenter. Stay at the Music. I didn't find Pop to be worth the extra charge over the Music. And I also like the food courts better at the All Stars than I did at the Pop.

We have stayed at both Pop and ASMu, and I love both resorts! Music has a quieter, more relaxed feel. Pop is very vibrant, colorful, larger than life. My husband doesn't like Pop because he thinks it is too loud and visually stimulating. So I guess it depends on the atmosphere you are looking for. I thought the buses and food courts were pretty comparable. Pop has the newly renovated rooms, and the lake, which is a plus. Also, you can walk to Art of Animation from Pop. Music is right inbetween Movies and Sports, so you can easily walk to those resorts and check them out. I don't think you can go wrong either way! For $50 less a night, I would lean towards Music, but if you think your family would prefer Pop, go for it.

I would go with whichever one is less. I know Pop has the new rooms and I have stayed in one and they are nice but I don't think $50/night better. I haven't stayed at music but I have stayed at Sports and it was fine. The buses are the buses at Disney and you aren't going to get any better or worse no matter where you stay. For my stays, and I can only talk about my own experiences, I've found the level of service at both resorts around the same. I've found both Sports and Pop to be very busy and kind of noisy in the common areas and since the rooms at the All Stars haven't been renovated yet, they are a bit dated but aren't horrible enough to spend $50 a night more.

I think the OP means $50 in total for 3 nights, not per night.

i've stayed at both resorts and would definitely go with pop! despite its huge size, the resort is overall an amazing value for a value! it's clean, the food court is great, and the bus service isn't too bad. also, if you do end up staying at POP, you can walk over to AoA and check out the food court and hotel! the food court there has an insane selection.

(btw i have nothing against the all stars; they are still great resorts! but compared to pop, they don't win based on my experience)

I would pick POP, especially since it's your folks first trip = newly renovated rooms.

We also prefer the AS to Pop.

I'm saying Pop only because the queen beds make it worth it. Plus the in room coffee maker. I had this same dilemma with my free dining BB. Music was $68 less for the week but those queen beds just pushed Pop through. I love both pretty much equally though!

If it’s only $50 over the three nights, then yes, definitely take Pop. If it’s $50 each night, then take Music.

With only 3 nights there, you won’t be spending a lot of time at the resort—def not worth $150.

I second the responder above; if $50 total, I would choose Pop. $150, with possible tax added, I'd go for Music instead.

$50 total? Hands down POP.
Great deal since POP is usually more than any AllStar
and
ASMu is usually less than all of the other values.

That alone tells you which hotels are most and least popular.

We've stayed at all of the All Stars, as well as Pop. They're all fantastic. In August of this year we had reservations for the All Stars, and after seeing that it was only $60 more (in total) to go to Pop for 5 nights, we changed our reservation to Pop. We wanted to check out the renovated rooms, and we also were of the opinion that this likely would be our last chance to stay at Pop before the gondola goes into operation and Disney jacks up the price for Pop.
