AS Movies or Pop Century

I have a dilemma. I can switch from AS Movies Preferred to Pop Century Preferred for $20. Should I do it? Never stayed at a value, not sure if there is a big difference between these 2 or not.

Its just my grown daughter and myself. Going the end of April / beginning of May. We wont be spending much time at the resort, but we obviously want the least stressful & most enjoyable experience.

Pros and cons of each please - if you've stayed at both. Or sell me on or the other if you just absolutely love one of them over the other

I have stayed at Pop Century and AS Sports. I would say the main selling point is that Pop Century doesn't share bus transportation with other resorts. All of the All-Star hotels share bus transportation. To my knowledge, I think Sports is the first pick-up for the busses for the All-Stars. I can be wrong. I'm staying at Pop next week for the 2nd time.

POP have their onw buses while All star share sometimes, also POP theme will be more appalling to your grown daughter than AS, in general POP is superior to All AS, POP went tru some renovations for their rooms last year also

The All Stars only sometimes share the buses.

I've stayed at both AS Movies and Pop, we are staying at AS Sports next month. The rooms are virutally identical, with different wallpaper and pictures on the wall, different light fixtures. Choose which one you like based on one of the following: which theme is most appealing to you? Which pool looks most interesting to you? or Which food court menu is most appealing to you? Beyond that, they are pretty much the same.

My choice is always Pop, I like the theming better and it's just a personal preference based on liking to stand in the lobby and stare at the shadowboxes.

No room renovations have happened yet. Pop is scheduled to begin room renovations this month.

I would say yes, do it. All Star resorts are the first locations booked into for school trips, including for international groups. Think unsupervised teens. Nothing bad - just more noise, more drama. Pop Century is the next resort they book into, but it seemed to be a bit more calm/quiet than allstars

Thanks for the clarification. The only time I stayed at an All-Star, we had to stop at every hotel before heading to the park.

As someone above pointed out, the rooms are almost the same, the theming is different and there is the shared vs non shared buses. Pop is a bigger resort than the All Stars, which means the public areas are more crowded and have more noise. I've stayed in Pop and ASSp and if I had to stay in a value again, I'd go with whichever is less. For me, Sports edged out Pop because it seemed less hectic and my room at Sports was in slightly better shape than the one at Pop but none of it was a great difference. As far as the shared buses, I didn't share one while I was there but it could have been a timing thing.

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately, I booked through JetBlue Vacations. Price for hotel/flight combo was way better than getting it separately, but now to make changes its a $135 pp charge. Ultimately, the additional $20 pkg price they quoted did NOT include the $270 in Jet Blue change fees. So now its a $290 upgrade to switch - so we will probably stay put.

Pop! I've stayed at both and prefer Pop bc of the buses, decor, thought it was quieter.
