First of all we have my hair dilemma, but that is simple compared to what I am faced with now.

The whole past week, I have not been feeling so great. I am known to have about 3-4 sinus infections per winter. I am allergic to pretty much all antibiotics, so getting rid of these is near impossible for me. It usually takes about a month to get normal again. Well, guess what............?

I ended up in urgent care yesterday with a severe sinus infection and severe ear infection. The doctor's exact words were, "Your ear is cherry red and about to burst. Doesn't it hurt?"

Well being that i deal with this all winter long, they no longer hurt, just an annoyance. So I am on about 5 different Rx's right now.

But here is the best part, I have to go for a recheck next Monday and if it is the same or worse..........I can't fly!

I have been crying all weekend. I have a list of things to do, and I have no energy or motivation to do them. I have my hair that is horrible, and now this. DF has been a saint by helping and taking care of my every whim, but I can't handle this. I am so frustrated and depressed and worried.

I need some postive words. Because I am close to just caving in and becoming completely stagnant.

TIA fellow brides. :sad2:

Oh, Emily, I am so sorry to hear this bad news:hug: I know you are thinking that you only have 11 days, but 11 days is 11 days and a lot can happen in that time. Please try not to worry, I know it's easier said than done when you have so much to do, but worrying will make things worse and you need to concentrate on getting better. You obviously know how you're body reacts to sinus infections. I too suffered severe sinus infections for the last 6 months, but one day I woke up and it was gone, it took me several hours to notice because I am so used to having that 'fullness' and sinus pressure in my head. I have now been about 2 months clear.
I am praying for you and sending you positive thoughts that your body and mind will fight this infection and get you better.
However if you cannot fly have you looked into alternative arrangements, like driving? It may make you feel better if you can identify an alternative mode of transport if worse came to the worse and you couldn't fly.
Here is some pixie dust in the hope that this doesn't happenpixiedust: and you will go back on Mon and it will have cleared up.
DO NOT worry about your hair or any other thing at the moment, all of those things will work out. Just think if you can get past this you will get past that and it will all seem trivial in the end. Do not cause yourself any unecessary stress, please.:grouphug:

Thanks Summer!

I am trying to stay as upbeat as possible, but it is hard when things keep happening.

Doug and i have made tenative plans to drive if necessary. It is a 17 hour drive so we will have to leave Wednesday night if we have to drive.

Thanks for the encouragement. :)

5 perscription medications? Oh Emily-- did you explain to him/her that you were fixing to get married... and a destination wedding at that? Sometimes for sinus related infestions (ear, nose, throat) you can get a shot--- and repeat that within a couple of days. I dont know if I would handle the slow-reaction to oral medication. If I were you, with or without an urgent care clinic-- I would make an appt with your primary care doctor!! Let him know just what is up! Or atleast speak with the phone nurse and relay what you are on and see if you can get anything that is faster acting or better effective.

Yikes--- they said you might not be able to fly? I hope that what you are taking is great and that it will kick in. My sister has been sick for the past 2 months with pneumonia type symptoms... and they told her its a bad case of allergies and infection.

Im glad that you are having great support from your DF. Thats very important. Regaurdless of all of this non-sense you are going to make it to FL and get married-- once you are, none of this non-sense will matter!! I REALLY hope that you get to feeling better:hug: and that things work out for you! Im tellin ya these 2 week marks get stressful-- come here and vent with everything!! You need a release! Good Luck Emily... and we are here for you:grouphug:

Emily, that is awful! I am so sorry this is happening to you :sad1: I hope you feel better asap, and can fly and are completely healthy for your wedding.

However, I am a worrier, that's just my personality. I am not trying to upset or be a pessimist by what I am about to say. I am also someone who had her eardrum burst on a plane before, and that was no picnic :sad2: If I were you, I would consider alternate forms of transportation to get to WDW. Can you take an extra day off work and drive down a day earlier? Basically, just have a back-up plan.

I know you have tons to do in the next week and a half, but you probably need a lot of rest. Can your DF help with some of your errands? Do you have family in the area? I'd be willing to make phone calls for you or anything else you need.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'll pray for a fast recovery. Relax, take a deep breath, and cross your fingers. We're here for you if you need anything

Oh, you're having a rough time aren't you! I hope you start feeling better soon!! We always drive to disney, it is 12 hours for us, and it is not too bad if you just make sure and stop to rest.

You guys are so great, I knew I could count on you all! :grouphug:

I have made an appt. with my family doc for Next Monday, that was the earliest he could get me in and even that was a squeeze.

I have a hair appt. this Thursday. ;)

We have made plans to drive down on Weds. if needed.

Now I am in just in a limbo of waiting and hoping. I will keep you all updated as things progress.:sad1:

oh my oh my..........now i just have to tackle that list. DF has offered to help where needed, but i am a planner and have trouble letting go of control.....:rotfl2:

But after all of this he may become the planner. ;)

He felt so bad for me he even drove me to work today. :flower3:

I just wrote him a big sappy e-mail telling him how much I appreciate all he has done. In between the yelling and crying breakdowns, i haven't been easy to deal with lately.............. :sad2:

Chin up Emily!!!

Dont let this get you down....you can get through it!!!

5 meds is alot....sometimes I think the more your on the less they help.

Every think about alt med...my mom is really into that & she swears by it...& she used to get sick every other week!

Things will work out...it seems things are looking better already.

Good luck with your hair & dr appt

You tell your body that you need to kick this, your getting married! Maybe a little mental toughness will help. Just make sure to get some rest to help your body get well!

Poor thing!!!! First try to give your body a day or so to heal, I know that will be hard to do.
The worse thing will be you have to drive and then you won't have to worry about ear pain on the plane.
Give you DF a hug and just know everything will turn out just fine.:bride:

Hang in there! I agree with other posters. See if theres some kind of shot they can give you. Sending a truckload of pixie dust your way!

Wow Emily... So Sorry to hear about that:hug: .I hope it all works out for you.. and I am sure it will.. I will put you in my prayers tonight... Big hug your way:hug: and lots of pixie dustpixiedust:

Emily,

I know that everything will work out and that your FTW will be the most magical and enchanting day of your life. Just think positive until then. :grouphug:

Hi Emily,

Just wanted to know how you're feeling today... I hope you're feeling better :wizard: It sounds like you and your DF are really on top of things. I am sure everything will work out :)

My sinuses are better today, but my ear is still very clogged and pretty much the same.

But, I am getting my long list knocked out and have been pretty pleased with my progress on that. I leave in 9 days (maybe 8 if we have to drive.... )

But I am in a much better mood and my spirits are up more. Thanks for your concern, it is nice to know you all have my back!

Glad to hear you are feeling slightly better. Think positive Emily, I'm sure you will get better, you still have 9 days to go. You know driving might be fun:goodvibes I would love to do that instead of fly, unfortunately it;s not possible as I don't think we'd get far when we reach the water!

I hope everything works out for you. I will say my prayers. Alot can happen in 11 days. You still have time. I am sure you will still have the most spectacular day of your life dispirt the set backs.

hey Emily, glad to hear you are on the mend...I am one of those positive thinkers : it will all be fine in the end:thumbsup2

wishing you and your DF a lifetime of happiness!

Michelle:cloud9:
