...I go to take my laundry out of the dryer and there is no heat in the thing. It's spinning, but there's no heat coming out of it. So off to the laundry mat my brother and I went tonight to dry the clothes. Now, we have to get a repair man in to fix it. Just what we need right now.

NO, you certainly don't need this right now. I know when I'm upset about somethng, the dryer breaking would put me over the edge. I once cried for a half an hour when I dropped dry spaghetti noodles all over the floor. Hope you're feeling better soon, and continued prayers for you and your mom...

Check your main breaker box. Dryers use two switches. If only one is on, it will spin but not dry. I had this problem once. Another time, the thermostat went out which was pretty cheap compared to a new heating unit.

So, I go down to the basement and check the breaker box as Phamton suggested, and there's a pipe dripping down in the basement. What else can go wrong this week?

Darn! I'm sorry. But do one more thing, turn the two switches to your dryer in the breaker box off then turn them both on again. We couldn't tell that ours was off, it looked to be in the on position, so we called a repairman and he switched it on and off and voila! our dryer worked. A couple of years later it stopped heating again and we tried that trick again. It didn't work that time and we found out our thermostat had gone out.

I'm going to have my brother see what he can do about the dryer tomorrow. The two switches for the dryer are hooked together, so I'll let him flip them tomorrow. I'm tired of looking at my basement.

I did fix the pipe though. There was a little screw thing that was loose, and I just tightened it, so at least that is fixed. I felt like screaming for joy when I realized I could do something about it.
