Grr....I swear I want to take all my co-workers and stab them in the eyes with sporks for acting like such idiots.
Today, I go in and one girl I'll call Ik is there. Ik is fairly new..been there probably less than a month. She recently was trained on switchboard and not trained very well at that. Oh well..NONE of us were trained well on ANYTHING at that store and we manage to pick it up just fine. Anyway...I'm on my register with a customer when I hear Ik and J (a shift mgr) screaming at each other. I glance over to where they are and wonder what's going on. Ik ends up screaming at J some more and then walking out, declaring loudly that she's quit because she wont' tolerate J's attitude problem. She also says that J (who is Hispanic and speaks primarily Spanish and some English) needs to learn some *bleeping* English lessons before talking to her again.
I've worked with J for over a year. She can come off as harsh when she feels like it's needed because you're slacking off or you really screwed something up. That's just how she is. We've all learned to deal with it and not take it personally when she blows up in our faces.
Ik seemed to have an attitude problem herself, like she was better than the rest of us and that she was 'slumming' by working this job.
Ik said she's coming in tomorrow to talk to the head bossman (who was off today) but other than that we can expect never to see her again.
It upset J so much that now J is quitting too.
While I am not overly fond of J, it bothers me that we are losing 2 people at once this way. When the head bossman finds out, all heck's gonna break loose. J is an important member of the team and we can't afford to lose her.
*sigh* As if I didn't need any more headaches at work, this comes up. I got some leads on openings at some places, so I'm going by the places I found out about tomorrow probably. When even the rats are hauling tail, you know you better jump ship too and hope to god you don't drown in the process.
