As God as my witness.I'll never be sick at Disney World again~~~wrapping things up...

Your MIL was obviously having a "senior moment". You know, those times when what she says makes her laugh and makes no sense to those around her! I've worked at seniors homes for several years - it happens a lot LOL

You KNOW you're awesome, never mind her senior moment. Oh, and is there some way you could clone your hair to be transplanted onto my head because mine is flat, thin and mousy brown? Great, thanks!

Oh, about your trip.... you know, Vancouver isn't that far from you. Just sayin' :rolleyes1

Like Cherie said on an earlier post, I suprised her with a trip to Vancouver. The best part was, I planned the whole thing. She didn't get to do anything except enjoy the experience. We stayed at 2 bnb's. We did a lot of walking doing a tour of Vancouver. The whole experience was the best because I was able to finally suprise her with something grand for our anniversary.:cloud9:

But you know what....some people are just a few nuggets short of a happy meal ;)

I know, and take this from experience guys, that she's not a few nuggets short fo a happy meal. She's a few happy meals short of a nugget... if you know what I mean.

So sorry MIL was that rude! That was really big of you to come back at her with something. God knows you have alot of ammo!

I vote going to the Oregon coast; we just loved it there. However, if you go to L.A., we will be there the first weekend of August, too!
.
What are you doing in LA?

i think some people lack the "tact" gene. anna's MIL is like that. at their wedding anna had gotten a couple of blemishes on the back of her shoulder right before the wedding (probably stress-related) and was wearing a spaghetti strap dress that would show it (they got married on the beach). her MIL said something like, "oh, honey, you've got to do something about that!" honestly it wasn't even noticeable but of course with her saying that it sent anna into tears. some people just don't think before they let things fly out!
I just don't understand people who do things like that.:confused3
Maybe it is a gene, because mil's mom was the same way only a little worse.

I think I was more dumbfounded then being the "bigger" person. Who's says that kind of thing?

So, did you go to both Vancouver and Victoria? Well, either way, I think you all need to visit again! You're a good dude to plan a trip for your lovely wife! Vancouver/Victoria is definitely drivable for you :thumbsup2 Oh, and we are SOOOOO due a great summer - we got completely ripped off this year weather-wise (we had Eastern Canada's fall/winter/spring :headache:).

No. sorry, my mistake. We went to Victoria.:confused3

decisions...decisions....

We've decided to take a 1 1/2 to 2 week road trip in August. I just have to decide where. The only bad part about living in the west is it takes a long time to get to somewhere "new". I can drive 6 hours and still be in the same state.

Anyhoo, I thought it'd be fun to get everyone's opinion.

option 1. Oregon Coast, Redwoods, Utah

Option 2. Redwoods, Souther California (a day or two at disneyland), utah

option 3. Mt. Rushmore, Utah, Home

option 4. Utah, grand canyon, home through california and oregon

Notice that Utah is in all of those? Well, we always visit my family in the summer and I've been informed that not going this year isn't an option.:rotfl2: Personally, I think they could come to me for once, but that's a whole nother story.

So....what do ya'll think?

I need to decide soon so I can start obsessivly planning!

Hmmmm....so hard to choose......:rolleyes1

2 or 4 for me..but I'm speaking selfishly......

;)

It's looking like oregon and cali right now
it's a good option because going home through utah from southern cali is only about an hour longer than if we went back up the way we go down.

MIL=foot in mouth disease. It happens..do you think it's intentional...

sometimes I think yes, and other times no. You just never know what's going to come out of her mouth.:confused3

Shame on MIL that was a nasty comment!

I'd like to think that she didn't know how rude that sounded but she started the whole coversation with..;.." I have to confess something". Generaly confessing has to do with something negative.
I don't know, I stopped trying to figure her out years ago.....about 10 to be exact, when she moved in with us.:rotfl:

How totally rude! Yep just like my grandma she did stuff like that all the time to my mom. Don't know how she put up with it for like forty years. I personally have a great MIL. On a wonderful note, I two love beauty and the beast. We had our picture taken with her at EPCOT in her reading dress, then went to the Kingdom a couple days later, went to toontown and had our picture with her in her yellow gown, and she was the same Belle! She was wonderful and even remembered us!!!

I'm so jealous! Belle in the yellow dress.:cloud9:

The only time we've been lucky enough for this was when we paid to see her at the PSB breakfast. Belle is my middle child's favorite character.

Sorry about your MIL. I'm lucky and don't have one, but I sure hope I'm a good one. I have a DIL and I often wonder what she has to say about me.

that's neat. I've only seen belle in her blue dress once. I wonder how they decide what she'll be wearing , when.

The things I've learned about what not to do is.....Be kind, welcoming, and keep your nose in your own buisness. :rotfl:

I realize that my mil could be a heck of alot worse...her mom was the reason for d.jay's parents divorce.:sad2:

My mom is really good, all my sibblings spouses love her.

Wow I haven't heard of them opening TT early before, what a pain but at least Baylie was OK!

Cherie you know we all think you're beautiful, every photo you post you look gorgeous I just don't understand MIL's sometimes maybe there's some rule book somewhere which tells them they all have to be as rude as possible

We would love that!! You're like a celebrity to the kids....Flat Jordan.

Jordan is a rock star to everybody!

Since you mentioned it, it must happen. Winkers and the Hot, Sweaty Asian TR would be AWESOME! You. Must. Do. It!

Belle in her reading dress is in Epcot, in France in her reading dress all the time. We saw her with Beast there too.:thumbsup2

Now that I've heard that you haven't heard of it opening early either.....I feel justified for being ticked.;)

I don't know if we want to go there........:rotfl2:
