Disney prices are going UP UP AND UP!!! i just found out that POP in Nov 2008 for 6 nights will be average of $95 per night. That is crazy . i am thinking about canceling my ressies, and staying off sight. can you find "good" deals on travel websites (travelocity, hotwire , etc) for value resorts? If not it will be offsite for us!

Even at $95 per night, you cannot beat the Disney transportation vs. outside, the Magical Express service if you fly, and other convienences of staying on property (dining plan for us!). I tried it both ways and it is worth a little more money to stay on-site!:)

No, travel websites will not have a better deal than Disney's price. AAA will give you a discount, subject to availability, and then if Disney offers any discount codes to the general public, every site can get in on them, even the travel sites.

Disney prices are going up, but they still fill their rooms and fill the parks. Look at the prices of rooms during Chirstmas week...but they have to close the parks on Christmas Day because of capacity. Here's hoping they keep offering discounts as they have in the past!

Up until June, 2006, we stayed offsite. Our stays are for 10 days/9 nights and to stay onsite just seemed like a waste of money. I was able to get a great room rate on an offsite suite. I bought tickets one month at a time (so it wouldn't seem to cost as much) until I had all four of our tickets. I saved money for food which, for us, as usually just counter service meals at the WDW parks with a couple of table service meals thrown in.

In August, 2005, I started planning our 10th trip and what was to be our 18 year old daughter's last family vacation. So, we decided to go for it and just book a WDW package. We stayed at the CBR for 10 days/9 nights, had 7 day park hoppers and the dining plan.

We immediately fell in love with staying onsite and swore we would never stay offsite again. The conveniences of staying onsite far outweigh the extra money we spend to stay onsite.

I love having the Disney transportation system do my driving for me. No wondering if the lady next to me is going to get over in my lane or whether or not that blue van is about to turn out in front of me. No getting into my sweltering car when I can just hop on an air conditioned bus.

I love the convenience of having all my food paid for prior to my arrival. I can eat anywhere I want and order anything I want.

We, again, stayed onsite at the CBR in June, 2007 and, while driving home, we started planning our June, 2008 stay. We are bumping up to the Wilderness Lodge standard view. It's a bit of extra money but I'll just have to stick a little bit more money back from each paycheck to make up the difference.

Without it ever being said, we know that we will spend our annual Summer vacation at Disney World. Because we know this, I save my money for the convenience of an onsite stay.

Now, all that being said, I would not pay the rates at the CR, GF or Poly. There are some things that are worth the money and there are some things that are not worth the money. I know that they are on the monorail system but that's not enough to justify my staying there.

Worth it to stay onsite? I my opinion, absolutely!

Actually I often find better rates on Expedia and Travelocity than I get when calling Disney. Last year we book waterview at CBR for $119. The savings will be less with a value, but more often than not, Expedia will give you a better rate than rack. I usually find that average Expedia price comparable to the Fl Res codes that Disney sends out.

$95 for a value seems like an okay rate...I think once the values go over $100, they are no longer a value.
