As a DVC member, can you access and purchase RCI getaways

No and it's unlikely you'll have any of the additional perks including online access or direct phone access or the ability to trade up in unit size. The only way this is likely to happen is if DVC gives up the corporate membership structure and allows members to join II and/or RCI directly paying regular membership dues and regular exchange fees. For someone like me it'd be great but for most members it wouldn't add that much to their value, certainly not enough for most to pay a yearly membership fee. You'd also likely lose the search first option.

I hope they do offer it at some point, I have been an RCI member for 15 years or so and love the getaways, buying several a year. If you own a non disney timeshare you can get a membership that way, free with a wyndham resorts membership.

Not free but included in other costs. Same for BG. Actually now with Bluegreen if you have qualified points you get access to both weeks and points separately which removes the limitation of not being able to trade for points resorts in the weeks side assuming you have the trade power for the resort in question. It also looks like it'll leave the points for deposit in place for the points side using the same membership. One advantage to BG over Wyndham is you can pick the resort and week for deposit where Wyndham exerts more control over the process. Both would be good and cheap vehicles for access and both are good complements to DVC as are several other options.

What are your top BG Resorts for ownership that would give the best trade power? I am partial to the east coast as I would really like to use it as well as trade it.

BlueGreen recently added RCI Points access as well---this is a huge win for their owners, IMO.

It doesn't matter what you own with BG in terms of which resort your points are based at as there is no home resort priority. The top resorts in the system would include the Fountains, Lodge Alley Inn, several top resorts at MB, Club 36 LV and the flagship resort Big Cedar Wilderness Club (Bass Pro Shop). BG and Wyndham fit a different niche than does DVC and each has it's plusses and minuses comparatively I think. Brian can speak more to Wyndham and correct me if I don't give an accurate portrayal as I'm not that versed in Wyndham. Both are low cost high value options that I'd put a notch or 2 below DVC. Both have great, good and OK resorts. Both provide access to RCI directly included and both including options for RCI points access for some members. I think Wyndham is a little more complicated and could be be a little more difficult to control some of the nickel and dime fees but is likely better if you want to use only the internal resorts. I think BG is better when it comes to trading on the weeks side due to the fact you can pick and deposit your week and resort. Since there's no home resort you can pick the highest demand week and resort and deposit for a difficult exchange and a low cost resort for short notice or easier exchanges. I've used cheaper studios for trades to Orlando at top resorts in 2 BR and used the same for the recent 2 week trip I took to MX where we stayed in 2 great units (1BR then 2 BR) with a direct ocean front view that would have been 1500 DVC points used through DVC exchange for the same units.

UNLESS your going to use the actual underlying week at the resort you're points are based at it doesn't matter one cent where you own with BG. This is good if you want to use different resorts and pick and chose resorts to rent or deposit.

Even better. They only added it for Travelers Plus members and apparently without losing the Weeks membership for most or all resorts preserving points for deposit with the same system.
