Just got back from the WL. DW and I had a romantic dinner for 2 last Saturday at Artist's Point while the kiddoes were in the Cubs Den. It was definitely worth the cost (2TS for a value of $151). Our waiter, David, was outstanding and very helpful. He recommended NOT doing the wine flight unless you just want a sample of 3 or 4 wines. It is more cost effective (and you get more wine) to either get a bottle, 1/2 bottle, or couple of glasses of wine each.
We had the smoky Portobello soup and mussels, buffalo steak and salmon, coffee two ways and Hazelnut chocolate torte. All of it was outstanding. The Copper River Salmon, which is only available 3 weeks a year, was remarkable. The Coffee two ways was our preferred dessert.
As for the ice wines, we actually tried a couple. Veeeerrrry sweet and tasty.
As for kids, that is our only sticking point. We would have preferred an adults-only venue, but that is not Disney's way. We were surprised to see so many kids considering how expensive the restaurant is. Most kids were quiet and behaved, but the family seated next to us had two boys about 8 or 9 who were loud, played video games during supper, and generally misbehaved. The dad was too busy using crayons to color a picture to correct them and the mom ignored them. When they finally left, our waiter apologized profusely and said he had tried to get us moved to another of his tables but couldn't. He gave a free glass of ice wine to compensate. Then the manager was setting the table next to us and shattered a glass, so he gave us two glasses of ice wine. We never complained to them and appreciated the extra attempts to improve our meal.
Please, please, please - if you bring kids to AP, make sure everyone dresses up a bit and that they are well-behaved.
Oh, the cost for the bottle of wine and extra tip for the waiter ran about $85.
