I made reservations for Saturday. The CM said the dress code was "business casual." This didn't register until just now, no shorts?

There are very few restaurants that will not allow shorts. I've worn them to Artist Point before. I wore shorts, with a polo shirt and sandals. Thats a little dressier than a t-shirt and sneakers.

Considering that everyone is on vacaction and its usually hot, shorts are never really and issue.

Yes, I believe they would prefer that you not wear shorts. I know we did years ago when we ate there, but that was before the new dress code was established. I nice pair of capris or sundress would work.

I noticed a few people with shorts at AP last week. They were dressed nicely, not theme park attire, but quite appropriately for the restaurant. Men wore collared shirts with shorts and women had nice blouses with theirs. It's awfully hot in August to expect people not to wear shorts, IMO. I guess you could always call the restaurant when you arrive and inquire about the specifics if you're not sure what to wear.

Have a great trip!

Interesting, thank you both!

Can't wait until Saturday, the cedar plank salmon is calling me. We'll be coming from church, so "clothes" really isn't an issue. But I wanted to go to the MK afterwards.

I had the Salmon it was great. I wore a skirt and a top and dh wore docker shorts and a polo shirt. If you are going to mk why don't you bring a change of clothes with you. They do have lockers you can rent.

We saw plenty of people in shorts there in April. Most were in nice khaiki shorts, but we even saw a few straight from the pool people. I think the code is a good idea, but obviously they aren't too worried about enforcing it.

When we are at other Signature restaurants with the business casual code in a couple weeks, I'm sure my 16yo DS will be in nice shorts & a polo or button-up. I'll stick with a summer dress or skirt & nice top.

According to the new passporter newsletter that I received today, which addresses this exact question....you can wear shorts if paired with a collared shirt. So there ya go!

I actually called back, and it probably was "resort casual" not business that I heard.

Thanks for all of the replies.

We will know on Saturday if we can get on the earlier flight and make this ressie, otherwise I'll have to cancel. The "real" vacation starts on Sunday, we are trying to get in something extra.

I went to Jiko & AP this weekend (see reviews) and for both reservations they dis say "business casual" but nothing has changed. I was there in shorts, polo and tennis shoes and at least 50% of the other patrons were in shorts as well.

This made me remember our 2003 trip...we'd been out at MGM all day on Thanksgiving, eaten at Brown Derby (disappointing) and when we headed back to AKL, we planned to grab a bite of dinner there. It was around 8 or 8:30 so we thought Boma should be thinned out enough to get a table...Wrong! It had an hour plus wait. So, while I made a PS there for the next morning breakfast, DH and DS went over to Jiko to check on their wait time. DH comes running back at me....Hey, do you want to eat at the chef's table. I was like, well duh...that is the primo spot! He told me to get a move on it because they can seat us right now. WOW! But, there we were, seated at the chef's table, wearing jean shorts, tshirts, and sandals. :rolleyes1 I guess, it's true that my money is as good as the guy in the three piece suit's money. It was a great meal and we had the best time talking with the chefs...even met Annette, the head chef. DS was thinking he was a big shot!!
