Cannot seem to get any reservations for anytime at Artist Point for my November trip. Are they going to be closed and getting a refurb or any reason why no reservations showing at any time?

There was someone on a thread who had the same problem:

I wonder if there's something going on, or are they really just full?

What are the dates of your trip?

I'm having the same issue. I'm used to being able to get day-of reservations for AP, so I'm guessing something is up!

We go annually for Thanksgiving and always have dinner there. We stay for ten days. Never a problem securing a reservation. I played with various days and times and nothing comes up which makes me wonder if they have reservations on hold for that time period right now.

Made several calls to Disney on Thursday and Friday re: AP Thanksgiving Day ressie availability. Finally handed the acquisition over to a concierge because I didn’t intend spending my entire Memorial Day weekend tethered to electronic devices ;)

Also gave an alternative restaurant in case first choice won’t be available.

I'm looking for November 18 or 19, so you may be right! I'll just keep checking!

A lot of people have been having problems getting ressie online. Have you tried calling them? The system goes down a lot.

This has been going on for a while though. I have a funny feeling something is going down. Either a refurb or maybe they havent released dates past October. Who knows. Its just really strange. :confused3

I had the same problem on Monday - no availability at all for 11/24-12/2. I am hoping it is just a delay in adding them to the system.

I've done quite a bit of research on this and actually reached out to a very reliable source at the Lodge itself, and here's the scoop, such as it is. AP isn't taking any reservations from late Oct (I believe 21 Oct is the last date that has any availability) through at least mid-November, perhaps later. There are "tentative" projects in store, none of which has been released for to the public thus far. Without any other information, all else is speculation. My guess is some sort of quick renovation, perhaps coinciding with the still unconfirmed rumor of a character breakfast coming to AP, is in the works. Again, nothing is set in stone.

If it were me, I'd definitely make alternate plans for any dates falling in that time frame. And, I'd stalk the grist mills of rumors to see what might pop news-wise in the coming weeks. Once anything is confirmed, then you can try to be one of the first to get a reservation at AP once they reopen.

Just an update, I have a split stay so I had two 180 day windows. And there's nothing at Artist Point through at least Dec 2. Not looking good for December stays either at this point.

The fact that AP is closed during a high revenue time of year for Disney at least seems to speak to how management views the location. We are without a doubt biased, as AP is special to us (having spent out 1st Valentines Day together there over 20 years ago). Regardless, it's a signature restaurant that won't be serving during one of the busiest times of year.

Wasn't there a rumor that they were going to start (re-start) a character breakfast at Artist Point? I don't remember dates or that it was even more than a rumor, but if that's the case...there may be some changes / adjustments that need to be addressed ahead of that. Like I said...just a rumor.

It's special to us as well, we ate there on our honeymoon almost 23 years ago and have eaten there almost every trip since (including 2 Thanksgiving dinners) we're celebrating my husband's birthday on this trip and even booked a stay at Wilderness Lodge in part because of eating there. Wilderness Lodge will still be lovely to stay at and I know we'll enjoy our alternative plans but it's a bummer. It seems odd to be short an eatery at one of the most popular resorts for Christmas too, so I'm hoping that they'll open up dates soon.

Maybe they’re converting Artist Point to a new DVC.

Our first special date was at AP. a few years later (and five years ago), we were married at the Lodge, and in between, we ate there every trip. Our wedding dinner was at AP, and we've continued to go to AP every trip we make, even if it's more than once a year. I do hope the length of time AP is down is scaled back once we know what's going on. Even more than for our sake, I hate AP's CMs taking a hit to their livelihood yet again. When half the Lodge was under construction for better than two years, I know they suffered since foot traffic to both the Lodge and the restaurants there were significantly impacted. Here's hoping AP isn't down for long.
