We have a reservation for Artist Point during our upcoming trip because I've wanted to eat there for quite a while now. I just read a poor review, and while I know that I shouldn't change my plans because of one review, it made me realize that I haven't seen ANY reviews for Artist Point in quite a while. Has anyone eaten there recently and enjoyed it? It's a bit pricey to go there for a mediocre meal...

Thanks!
Lori

I have only eaten at Artist Point once, but it was one of my better dinning experiences. It is peaceful and quite, and we really enjoyed the food. I remember the bread and the cheese plater being especially tasty. And our waitress was wonderful.

Give it a try!

We used to go about once or twice a year. AP was one of the places I liked to go on a friends trip and with DH.

Years ago they had this great fixed price menu that included soup, salad entree and dessert for a reasonable amount (for Disney reasonable :rotfl: )

Then it no longer included soup and salad
then it went up
and up
and up

It is no longer on my must do list. Just more $$ than I am willing to spend there. Still like the food, just prefer to spend my $$ elsewhere.

If it is a place you want to try, GO! For every post of meh here, there has to be lots of people that loved it

Let us know what you decide and how it was :)

I think Artist Point is okay. It's not one of my top Disney signatures but a lot of that may be because I absolutely hate the decor there. I think the food is decent and it does tend to be much quieter than CG or Narcoosees.

I would not let one bad review stop you from dining there. You will get a mixed bunch of reviews on every place at Disney.

We absolutely love Artist Point. The service has been great and the food was excellent. I do the wine flight when I eat there and it has never disappointed me. My brother is somewhat of a food snob and he raves about AP all the time. In fact, we have a trip coming up and we are all meeting there for the first part of our family reunion.

Just remember that no restaurant is perfect for everyone and that your personal tastes must prevail. If you like Pacific Northwest cuisine then you will have a great time there.

Enjoy!

We enjoyed a nice meal there last month, it was very quiet (and hence more romantic than a lot of Disney places) as most people were round the corner whereas we were near the check in desk.

Decor isn't amazing but the food was really nice and the service was good. We were on DDP however so weren't paying OOP

We loved Artist Point when we ate there in June! It was a bit quieter than some other restaurants which we liked, the atmosphere was laid back and the food was great!

Was there last month for the 3rd time and we weren't let down...food, service, atmosphere were all top notch!
The chef even came out and talked to us for awhile and sent us complimentary sorbet between our entrées and dessert!
Bon Appetite! :goodvibes

LOL, Artist Point is not a mediocre meal. Artist Point has been one of the best restaurants on disney property since the day they opened the doors.

We have been going since that day, the food and service has always been fantastic. When we take new people there, it quickly becomes their favorite restaurant.

No worries, go and enjoy. You are right..do not let one bad review discourage you from ever trying any restaurant. People have many different tastes/food backgrounds..so what one likes, someone else may not!

We ate there last Nov. for the first time.
We had an 18month old and a 4 year old with us.
Our server was AMAZING!!!
She made sure the kids stuff came early and often
and kept them happy, which kept the 6 adults in our party
very happy. princess:

The service was simply wonderful,
no one in our party had any complaints about the food, (The buffalo was AMAZING!!!!
and if you step out on the balcony between dinner and dessert,
it is a wonderful atmosphere!

I highly recommend the white chocolate mickey puzzle dessert
for the kids (for those wanting to take kids to eat at AP). It comes with icing "paint" on an artist's palette plate.
They get to work their puzzle, "paint" their puzzle, and then eat it! and then it also has a delicious cookie
with it. It was well worth the $5 price tag. The kids LOVED it!
Heck, I wanted one for myself.
:wizard:

We are already planning a dinner there on our next trip.

Glad to know also! We planned our fairwell dinner here for our upcoming trip when none of our other favorites were available... Now i am excited....:thumbsup2

It was great to come back and see all these positive responses! Thanks for your feedback - I'll be keeping the reservation. :)
