Me and my girlfriend are planning on trying Artist Point for the first time next trip. Can anyone who has been there give us a quick review. How is the atmosphere? We absolutely loved the atmosphere at California Grill. Is Artist Point comparable to that?

I've never been to the Cali grill. Artist point is very comfortable nice music playing, great views, great food. It has become our must do restaurant.

Can you tell me what kinds of views you can see? I haven't been to Wilderness Lodge.

I've been to both resturaunts. DH and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at Artist Point in April-the same night DS and DDIL were celebrating their 1st anniversary at CG. The food and service are great at both places, but AP is much calmer, quieter, IMHO. We had a lovely table overlooking the waterfall that's outside. Don't miss the Smoky Portobello Mushroom soup.

Thanks for the review! Smoky Portobello Mushroom soup sounds heavenly. :thumbsup2

We had dinner at Artist Point for the first time in April. Great food, great atmosphere. I got the Halibat, Yum. My DH and DD got Buffalo!:scared: I thought it was creepy but they both loved it!

At AP it is much more "laid back"--there is no open kitchen and the bar/lounge area is quite seperate from the restaurnt--not smack dab in the middle as at CG. And you don't get folks there as much for the view/fireworks as they are for a good meal.

We revisited AP this past March.. we had not gone since it opened many years ago and were pleasantly surprised that the food was very good and service excellent... We enjoyed it so, we may visit again next time we go. I do not think you would be sorry with this choice for a quality dinner.

We have had really great dinners at both restaurants several times. On our last trip, DH and I picked AP over Cali Grill. It is just a bit calmer and more intimate, we think. The pacific northwest wines are really great too. :cloud9:

We were at both CG and AP in December. CG and Flying Fish are a notch better than AP IMO. AP is very good but doesn't have the 'WOW' factor that CG and FF have. FF and CG have (or had) the same chef so the styles are similar. For our next trip we're skipping AP and doing CG and FF again.

I'd like to know if the Cedar Plank Salmon is back upto snuff. We haven't been to AP for a year but our last two visits the salmon was far inferior to the many previous visits...We think it was a different receipe but were never sure. Anyone know?

:thumbsup2 I had it in December-the Wild King Salmon-not the farmed stuff-it was VERY good!
