We treated SIL and BIL to Xmas dinner at AP.They had never been there and it is one of our favorites. However, it was our 1st time eating there for Xmas night dinner. We kept the fingers crossed that they would like it.(BIL is not an adventurous eater)Seated promptly at 530 and POK our favorite CM was there to wait on us.She is wonderful.BIL got some new cologne and she was saying"Oh you smell so nice" and made him blush like crazy.LOLWe started out with cocktails and bottled water. The bread was nice and fresh.Loved the cranberry bread. For appetizers, we had the Frisee salad,Field greens salad and Battered Halibut.Pok brought us an espresso cup tasting of the smoked mushroom soup.It is wonderful.BIL doesn't like mushrooms but slurped it down.
(sorry to be blunt)For entrees 3 of us chose the Beef Tenderloin with a wonderful wild mushroom bread pudding.SIL the always great Cedar Planked Salmon and DW had a single Pork Chop which is an understatement. It was huge. We had 2 bottles of the Hogue 97 reserve Merlot to go along with the great dinner. For dessert : Coffee and hot chocolate along with eggnog cheesecake, gingerbread cake and AP cobbler. The chef was out and about asking how everyone enjoyed their meal and we all gave it thumbs up including BIL and SIL. Whew. It was a winner. After being wheelbarrowed out and taking a breather, we headed to the concierge lounge later for an after dinner drink. What did they have but more AP cobbler loaded with berries. Bring another wheelbarrow.
