Staying at Wilderness Lodge in June. Want to try Artist Point. We have two DD's age 7 and 12. Do they have a children's menu there. Even if they do, would you recommend this restaurant for kids. Or should DH and I have an evening to ourselves and let the kids go to the the Cub's Den? Also any feedback about the food and service would be greatly appreciated.

We enjoyed our 14th Anniversary dinner at Artist Point with our then 9 yo DD. She has never ordered from a children's menu and she had a pleasant time. (The kid has loved lobster and steak from the time she had teeth and eschews mac n cheese and chicken fingers.) Our waitress was very attentive to her and us and was dealing with a few tables with children.

We did not use the Cub's den because she wasn't comfortable going there by herself. If she had a sibling, I think she might have preferred doing the kid thing though.

Hi! I agree with the above posters...you can go either way, it is whatever you feel more comfortable with. My DD love's the Cub's Den. She is also an only child, but likes getting a chance to interact with other kids her age while at WDW, instead of hanging out with her "boring" parents! LOL! (She has never said that, but she really does love being with other kids...)

I must tell you, if you opt to take your kids, make sure you order the "puzzle" dessert. It is white chocolate and it is presented with edible paints and a paintbrush. The paintbrush is the only thing inedible on the plate. It really kept my DD (she is 6) entertained for quite sometime. Oh, it also comes with two warm yummy cookies on the side!

The food is delicious. DH and I had the chef's selection menu. It was $45 and started with the smoky potobello soup. This soup is absolutely incredible. I then had an endive and blue cheese and pear salad...a filet mignon with goat cheese dumplings and the "coffee two ways" dessert...a latte crem brulee and a mocha bread pudding..

awww, why are you doing this to me...now I wanna go back! :sad2:

The WL is an awesome, incredible hotel You will love it!

We took our then 5 year old to AP. It was really great. We had one of the earlier seatings, so it wasn't too busy, and we didn't feel rushed. Our server Pok was awesome, she was great with our son. Got him to eat up his meal so he could get dessert! She even took him for a quick tour of the restaurant! They had a little section of the wall near the host stand that had pictures colored by kid guests. My son did one and was given a special certificate for his great art. He was really nicely behaved, and I think because Pok was so gracious and friendly with us all he really picked up on the fact that he was behaving appropriately, if that makes sense!

It's a great restaurant to experience with or without kids. Obviously if you fancy a little alone time, the kid's club is really good too.
