We will be on dxdp and stating at WLV. I know AP is signature but I am not sure if kids would like Kona better. We love Ohana but I want to different things.

Which do you prefer with kids or should we do AP and leave kids in a kid's club?

I took my DS3 to Artist Point in early September and though the decor was a bit drab, in my opinion, the food and service was very good and our waiter was so kind to my son. There were a lot of kids there that night and seemed very kid friendly, though not a very lively restaurant. Kona will probably be a little more exciting in terms of decor. I love how it is open to the rest of the hotel so it is much more lively than AP. The food is good, too! Just different than AP. I would say, if this is your first stay at VWL and you really want to experience what the resort has to offer and maybe have a more relaxing evening without a lot of travel, go with AP. If you want to make a night of it at the Poly - go with Kona. If you do decide to have a couple's night, AP is definitely the one to choose, but your children will certainly be welcome at the restaurant!

no question....AP...great food and service.
Kona is one of the top worst service and food restaurants i've been to at Disney.
With the exception of the sushi (which is also now lacking now that Chef Andres who started that project is gone), i find that place to be HIGHLY overrated.

We just got take out sushi from there last weekend to take down to the beach and people were actually walking away because they waited so long with no food coming out to them. I've been there several times over the last few years and i have yet to have a good experience (other than the sushi and talking to Chef Andres).

AP for sure!

We went with our 8 year old nephew, the CM's made a huge fuss over him and the food was divine. For me, AP is one of Disney's little known treasures that shouldn't be missed (if you're on the DDP). It's a little steep OOP but for me it's one of the best restaurants at the World.
