Artist Point for Christmas Dinner?

We'll be staying at Wilderness Lodge for Christmas this year and are trying to choose a restaurant for our Christmas dinner. We had originally considered the Castle, but reading dozens of posts about how crowded MK is on Christmas Day has kind of spooked me. We're now thinking we might prefer a quiet day at the resort, and a nice dinner at Artist Point.

Has anyone had Christmas dinner here? Will there be a special menu, and if so, what?

Thank you for your help!

Have never eaten there on Christmas...but many other times throughout the year....I would do it...make your ps before they are full.

Artist Point is outstanding...the perfect place for a holiday meal.

Thanks for the quick response!

One thing I forgot to ask is if AP is kid friendly? DS will be 10 and DD 6 by that time.

We never ate here on Christmas either but I had to post that this is our favorite restaurant in all of WDW. The food and service has always been exceptional here for us! If we were there on Christmas Day this is the first restaurant I would think of having Christmas dinner.

It is one of our favorite restaurants. Ate there for Xmas dinner last year. There were a number of children present for dinner. They have a special menu for Xmas eve and a different one for Xmas day. The chefs really don't decide what they are going to serve until that week. They have a featured Christmas entree each year. In 02 it was goose with a chestnut stuffing. They had some of their regular menu items, such as the salmon, tenderloin, mushroom soup, beer battered halibut etc. Some entrees were "tweaked” with different side dishes, sauces etc. They had special Xmas desserts such as eggnog cheesecake and gingerbread. If you end up there, please request POK for a server. She is a delight to be around and hopefully you will have a wonderful meal.:)

Mmm.........that all sounds wonderful! I think we may have a winner!

You may have sold us on this restuarant as well for Christmas Dinner. Any suggestions what time? Do they do lunch? We were probably going to AK Christmas Day, because we had read how crowded MK was. Would you suggest a late lunch or an early dinner? We don't like to eat really late. Usually by 6:00 we are hungry.

They are not open for lunch :( We went at 530. Imho it is best to get there early before the CM's and kitchen gets slammed. Imho WL is a must see during the holidays. It just puts you in the right mood.:)
