We are on the Deluxe dining plan and looking to enjoy our first ever signature dinner. I think we have narrowed it down to these two resturants. Both menu's appeal so I need help deciding and any comments would be much appreciated. If you have another favorite what is it? Cali Grill is not available.

Have been to both. We did not enjoy our meal at the Flying Fish, but are probably one of the few here that did not care for it. The seafood was not cooked very well. The mussels were the best part of the meal at Flying Fish, but I liked the mussels better at Artist Point. I had the buffalo at AP, which was good, but not seasoned. I wished I had tried the salmon at AP. I thought the service at AP was really slow.

The mussels were awesome! Could have made a meal out of just dipping my bread in the broth! We enjoyed our other dishes at Flying Fish too. DS5 really enjoyed the boardwalk entertainers... and actually got pulled into one of the entertainer's acts a few minutes before check in. Flying Fish just said to come in whenever we were done having fun!

Didn't get to Artist Point... was supposed to go but we traded fine dining for Whispering Canyon Cafe so DS could have a little fun on our first night!

tough as I like both. They are different styles of restaurants so maybe my view of the differences will help you.

Artist Point - I like the historical park lodges and The Wilderness Lodge, including Artist Point, is a faithful rendition. The menu is not cutting edge but is generally well executes. In my experience, the service has been great. Because it's off the beaten path, the atmosphere can be quieter than many of the other signature restaurants.

Flying Fish - good food that has a creative edge to it. Service has been good. It's easier to get to and a little louder. I've done the counter once and liked it but I like siting at counters overlooking the kitchen.

I don't think you can go wrong with either...check out the menus and decide which appeals more. Also, consider transportation and where you'll be that day!!

We prefer Flying Fish. The yellowfin tuna I had in October was the best dish I've ever had here. We also always get the cheese plate here; it's one of the best offered at any of the Disney restaurants.

Artist Point is okay; it just doesn't knock my socks off.

Flying fish is much much better than Artist Point. We went to FF twice this past trip (nov) because we liked it that much. For apps I recommend the mussels or mozzerella & tomato and for dinner the steak is excellent, their signature fish was good and my DH really liked the tuna, I forgot what he got the first time but I know he liked it. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Their desserts were incredible too - got the sugar free pumpkin cheesecake and the next time the apple tort -that was insanely good.
FF is one of my favorites now along with Cali Grill & brown derby.

Another vote for Flying Fish. Second best meal of our trip last week behind Jiko.

Flying Fish! We dine here twice a year and I dine here on my Girl's Trip as well every year. The Snapper is phenomenal. Service is great. We tried Artist Point with Nascargirl and her DH for their anniversary. It was very good but Flying Fish is the favorite.;)

Haven't eaten at AP so can't comment but we loved our meal at FF in November. Service was excellent. Food was great! I loved my hubby's snapper more than my dish which was the potato encrusted fish (can't remember which fish). Mine wasn't bad, it's just that my hubby's was so much better!! Dessert was great! Would definitely go back again!

I love  Artist Point:love:. Our last vacation, we ate there three times:scared1: The only other one I would repeat in a vacation is the California Grill.

I just checked FF menu and I see it is Prix fixe @ 60.00 pp. Does that mean you don't have a choice of a entre or do they offer a selection of 3 different entres? I am going AP this yr. for the first time.
