You can't miss on the menu for The Artist Point. After you have finished your meal, get something to drink and relax in the lobby. The sites and sounds are quite amazing.
Sorry to be a downer, but we just ate at Artist Point on the 21st. It was my favorite restaurant in the past and I was really looking forward to it.
I was extremely disappointed to find they'd changed the menu. They were serving my beloved cedar plank salmon with a pork belly hash. I couldn't even consider it based on the name alone. Yuck. So, I ordered a steak. It was awful. I took one bite and left in on the table. I actually laughed when it arrived. The steak was supposed to be served with spinach. There was, maybe, a teaspoon of spinach on the plate!
A manager came over when we were almost finished with our meal and asked if there was a problem. I explained that I just didn't care for my meal. He offered to have something else prepared, but the others were finished with their food, so I declined. And, before you ask, we hadn't seen our server. He ended up not charging us for mine, which was nice.
Short story...I won't go back. It was a very disappointing experience all around.
To the OP:
the Northwest selection is made up of items that are already on the regular menu. If you choose the salmon entree, the price is exactly the same either way, but if you choose the steak I think ordering the northwest selection will save you $3 over ordering the courses separately. (might need to check my math, I just glanced at the allears menu)
I know lots of folks rave about the salmon, and the mushroom soup, and the berry cobbler--so you probably can't go wrong there. I personally did not care for the soup though, it may have just been an off night for my tastebuds, lol. (I haven't tried it again on subsequent trips, we usually get other appetizers.)
I like the atmosphere and we've always had fine service, very friendly. My favorite dish is their vegetarian option, the potato potstickers with edamame. OMG, to die for! We will definitely be going back every trip as long as those stay on the menu!
Dined at AP about two weeks ago and the food was excellent as usual (buffalo, cheese plate and coffee two ways dessert). Price of the buffalo has jumped through the roof ($44) but did not impact us on the DDP.
