I have a degree in Interpreting for Deaf Individuals. I worked as an Interpreter for many yrs. I have not been working in that field for appx 7 yrs as I stay home with my kids. However, I did do some freelance work the first few yrs I was home.

Anyway, we were at Dis in Feb and there were interpreters in the monsters inc laugh floor. OMG they were AWSOME! I never spotted the client or I would have said hi.... but the Interpreters were outstanding!

I know after college one of the girls that I graduated with went to Disney to do an Internship..... I never heard how it went, but I am sure her skills increased as a result!

There may not have been a client there. Shows are interpreted on a rotating basis whether or not there is a client there. The rides are only done if there is a client but the shows get interpreted no matter.

I am so happy to see Disney get this award. Mark Jones and the interpreters are really incredible people. I have met them both in park and at professional conferences and workshops and they are always a delight to be around. Btw, Mark Jones is a certified interpreter himself.
My favorites are Tara, Marvin and Angela, but really I like all of them.
