Article About Hotel Prices Near Disneyland

Very interesting! And I hope he's right when he says hotel owners will use their big profits to first improve their properties, though I'm skeptical. If they are full at these higher rates, why bother?

I'm consistently shocked that Disney hasn't bought up more of these small-time, park-adajecent hotels and put their own resorts on those sites. They may have to overpay, but for the profit they make on their rooms and in the parks, it would seem like a bargain and remove the whole no-tell motel feel that I really think harms Disneyland's overall ambiance (vs. say, Disney World) as a vacation destination.

Thanks for posting this article! Interesting reading. I hope they use the money to improve those properties too. I wonder how far they can push up those prices on the little motels on Harbor before people start to decide that they'll stay further away at nicer properties though. We usually stay at one the day we get into town, this year we 're staying two nights at the BW Anaheim inn before checking into the GC. And the only reason I chose it was because I could get it for $80 a night and its proximity to DLR. All of the others that I looked at were over $110 plus a night and many were $120-$150. It irks me to pay that kind of price for the motels on Harbor, considering what they offer. At that price, I would stay at a nicer chain. Now if we were staying our entire trip off property I don 't know how much higher in price I would pay for the proximity but not much.
