I know this is REALLY a long shot, but I figure I might as well try anyway;)

Does anyone happen to have a copy of Arthur Miller's All My Sons and be willing to post (or PM) the two scenes wit h Bert in them OR if you are better at googling than I am and could post a link to them online that would work as well. I found the scenes on youtube (with a little girl playing Bert) but cannot really understand the words. It is not available on Kindle (I already tried that).

In case you are wondering:my son's OT times changed just today which will allow him to audition for the role of Bert (since now there is no conflict with rehearsals). He struggles with reading and will stumble over words (and have to concentrate on READING and not ACTING if he is reading for the first time at an audition. There were perusal scripts available, but they are all out now. We live in Germany and I cannot get a same day English copy for my son to look at tonight--but I would like him to at least have had the same chance that others have had to read the words ahead of time so he can just act it tomorrow.

Like I said--totally a long shot, but I figured it can't hurt to ask:goodvibes Thanks

sorry, i suggested the kindle app but I reread the OP and saw you already tried that..

No problem. Thanks for trying:goodvibes

Look on YouTube...at least your DS can maybe check out the lines and listen to scenes

I'm trying to look on iTunes for free stuff or maybe even just some podcasts about the play.

This is great--there is one that came up further down which is MUCH easier to hear than the one with Brittany:thumbsup2 I didn't know the trick to put the title in quotes. Thanks.

If you can access in Geermany what I can access here, there is an audiobook version available on iTunes, title is "All My Sons (Dramatized)" and Narrators are listed as Arthus Miller, Arye Gross, James Farentino and Julie Harris. Costs $11.95, was published in 2006 and produced by L.A. Theatre Works.

Oh that is GREAT. I never thought of iTunes. My son has an account though, so I can put him on it as soon as he gets home. Thank you so much:goodvibes

This link does not have the complete script, but this is a two-page scene between Bert & Keller http://books.google.com/books?id=V7vxnpXl7WIC&pg=PA11#v=onepage&q&f=false

Here's a Study Guide I found http://www.universalteacher.org.uk/gcse/allmysons.htm

I think if your son understands some of what happens in the play, it can only help him and if the director asks questions she/he will be impressed. Anyone can memorize, but if you get an actor who *understands*?...they're like gold.

tell your son "Break A Leg!" (It's what actors say to each other instead of "Good Luck!")

agnes!
