I learned about the ART system reading tripadviser.com reviews for the timeshare we are staying at which is on W. Orangewood Blvd. In the review I read, the guy mentioned don't take the route at the timeshare. He said to get on at Harbor Blvd Route 6.

Has anyone had any particularly bad experiences? or particularly good experiences?

Any routes to avoid?

Any strategies to minimize time spent?

Will you be staying at Dolphins Cove? (I couldn't get a rez for my stay, sigh.)

If so, you can pick up the ART by walking a short distance to the pick-up benches on Harbor in front of the Denny's. On that side of Harbor the trolleys are heading toward the parks, so it can be a pretty quick ride.

The ride home is longer, with many stops, and the trolleys are always full at closing, but it's still a good ride back. (The return route usually passes directly in front of DC, and if you have a nice driver, they'll drop you off at the driveway, before going on to Harbor.)

We too stayed at Dolphin's Cove, we caught the ART in front of the hotel around the corner from the condo and got off on the opposite side of the street from the morning spot on the way home, the walk was very easy. It was fine, never horribly crowded but it was very inconsistent with its arrival and departure times which was a little annoying.

I also stayed at Dolphins Cove back in November 09. The one that comes in front of Travelodge / Dennys (I think it was the 14) came the first day we were there, and then we never saw it again (coming or going), so we started taking the 3 which was across the street and in front of the Doubletree. Dolphins Cove and some of the ART drivers knew this was a problem. Another route (I want to say the 2) actually stopped and picked us up once.

Going from the hotel to DL, the 14 is the shortest route, BUT, leaving Disney, you are better taking the 3. It is more consistent and it is a much shorter trip.
