Thanks, GatorChris, for posting about your experience on ART! I have often debated staying farther away and taking ART to and from the parks, so reading about this was really helpful because it helped me decide that I definitely want to stay within easy walking distance so that I don't have to hassle with shuttle times.

We stay at a variety of places. And I do understand ART is a learning experience, from how to get the best price on tickets to how to figure out how to ride. Yes, there is a 40 min gap in busses in the afternoon due to lunches for the drivers. I honestly feel they should have a lunch rotation, but they seem to think this works. We have also learned to see what busses are available when we want to leave the park, as there are often 2 busses going to the area we want to go. And heading to the park, it is easier to know where the various busses pick up and to use the text system to find out when the bus is due to arrive. For example, I know the Residence Inn where we stay can be served by both route 7 and 8. I know if I am at the Hilton, I use 3, 4, 5, 18 or 19 (but use 4 or 5 for fastest route.)

Personally, this is what I expected with ART, and why I always stay within walking distance. I have no patience for public transport, and would have been annoyed in that situation too. I appreciate the review, as I will know in future about the 40 minute wait in the afternoon, and will continue to stay within walking distance rather than risk relying on the ART.

I think the problem is that you did not indicate until much later in the thread that you had previously been told on these boards 20min and were surprised by the sign. So your original post came across as "the bus was 5 minutes off from the expected time and that's ridiculous."
It makes sense if you were expecting every 20min all day that you would be surprised and frustrated to learn afternoons are different. A warning to do your research on ART pick-up times and route lengths is valid and helpful. That's just not how your first post read to most of us.

I appreciated the review. I'm planning a trip, know zippo about the area and trying to learn all I can. DH isn't very patient with busses and things so we're going to stay within walking distance!
