We've only ever had to use ART on one previous trip and it was using a different route. This time just DH and I will be going :thumbsup2, and will be staying a the Doubletree on points. Yeah for free hotel, boo for not easy walking distance. Has anyone used ART from there? It is stop 3 on route 3. Any trouble getting to the parks to line up well before opening? Should we use ART or walk to the Toy Story lot. I'm not sure exactly how far that is from the Doubletree. We've never used the Toy Story lot before. :confused3

anyone else have any experiences to share taking the ART from the Doubletree or walking to the Toy Story lot?

We stay at this DoubleTree regularly and have walked to the parks (not a bad walk at all) and walked to Toy Story lot quite easily and got on a bus there! Have a great time!

Kelsiesmommie - do you remember how long it took you to walk to the Toy Story lot and also to the parks?

How did you like the Doubletree? I need some reassurance that this will be a good thing since I prefer to stay right across the street. (Besides the obvious one that we are staying free on points ;))

I used mapometer and it is a half mile to the bus stop of the Toy Story parking lot and a mile to the bus drop off area at the entrance plaza. Given you won't have kids (and I am assuming previous trips have been with) I would probably just walk directly there. It's amazing how much easier walking is when you don't have Rugrats in tow!

Heading back would be a different story, I would probably go art the whole way just to sit down. Or you could head to the GCH and grab a cab back (assuming the cab will take you on a short trip like that).

We usually stay at the Hilton at the Convention Center which is on the same block as the Doubletree but at the end closer to Disneyland. We have never used the ART. Even this weekend for the half marathon, we just walked across the street to the Toy Story shuttle. It's free and there's usually always one waiting to leave so you don't have to worry about a schedule or where else it's going to stop along the way. We did just walk the whole way a few times (before the half, not after :) ), it's doable in about 20 minutes and there's a CVS on the way if you forgot anything like we did.

Doesn't the Doubletree have it's own dedicated shuttle?

Thanks everyone for your input. Now I just need to decide if we should purchase some ART passes from Getawaytoday to save some money on them or just wait until we get there and try the Toy Story lot first. :confused3 I wasn't too pleased with ART on our only other trip out of easy walking distance.

As far as the Doubletree...the family & I stayed there last week for four nights (11/9-11/13). We were lucky to have a room facing the park so we were able to see the fireworks from our room! Front desk and bell staff were all very pleasant & helpful. We would stay there again. We walked to the park & twice took a cab back in the evening.
