We were talking with a cast member yesterday while waiting at the bus stop at Boardwalk. He told us that it was confirmed last week that Art of Animation will become a DVC resort in the fall of 2012. Is this old news? Rumor?

They would be already selling points for any DVC opening in the fall.

Now, if Disney classifies AoA as a "moderate" like the FW cabins then they might get added to the Disney Collection so DVC direct purchase members could use more points at ApA than a DVC 1BR..

Not likely, the legal requirements to make a property a DVC resort was not completed. In addition, Disney has been wanting to build a family suite resort for some time now to fill a growing need.

While its darling, from the pics, it's in no way the same caliber as any of the DVC resorts. Someone give that bus driver a breathalyzer.


Having said that, we added a night there to our DVC stay this October. I'll let you know if I see a Best Kept Secret kiosk.
