Art of Animation vs. rental home?

How are the family suites at the Art of Animation resort? Our family of 5 has stayed at a rental home for our past two trips (which we loved), but for our next trip (next fall) we won't have napping children any longer so won't need to return midday for naps (not to say that we wouldn't return to swim) which means we won't need a house to give us so much room to roam while kids are napping for 3 hours. The kids will be 8, 6 and 5. We thought it might be a fun change to stay on-site but we still need to keep the trip affordable which the rental house really allowed us to do. We are looking at a 2 week trip as we've done both times in the past with 10 day magic your way passes and a few down days. Thoughts? Advice? Thanks!

I think AoA would be fun for the ages of your children however if you are looking for a more affordable option POR-Riverside will be the cheapest option for 5 people. It has 2 queens and 1 small murphy bed for a child but only 1 bathroom and not as much room as the suite but it is a good bit cheaper

Thanks! I'm just not sure I could survive 2 weeks with that little space.

FWIW i know I couldn't and would go with the suite or 2 rooms in my case since my kids are older. Just wanted to give another option since you were looking for affordable

From what I can tell (we will be at AoA in a LK suite in 3 weeks), almost all reviews of the suites have been positive so far and I do think there is something very magical about staying onsite. Having said that, I am not sure I would want to stay in a family suite for 2 weeks, mainly because of the bed situation. Most reports have said the sofa bed and dining table bed are comfortable, but I just don't know that I could sleep on them for 14 nights, KWIM? Have you thought of doing a split stay with maybe a week in a house and a week at AoA?

That might be fun - then we could take advantage of free dining if it was being offered as well. :)
