Hi

For all we have been to dlp on numerous occasions we have never done art of animation.

Is it good, would it be suitable for a 5 year old, he has really just started showing an interest in drawing properly.

We are going tomorrow :cheer2:and although we don't plan much I at least like to keep a list of he things we want to do....

Any thoughts appreciated.

all kids are different, I first took my DD into Art of Animation when she was about 6, and she wasn't remotely interested in the middle bit, and we ended up leaving after a few minutes (the bit where they talk to you (you wearing headphones) about animation, the background to it etc etc). We have done it once since, when she was 8, and she was fine sitting through it.

You don't have to do the whole thing to sit in at the drawing practice at the end - there is a separate entrance to this bit, and anyone can join in (its a great room too, lots of interactive stuff to do with colour, sound and lights). You just go in the door opposite Animagique (its where the Gallery shop is too) :). My DD still loves this end room, and we visit it quite a few times every trip (its nice and warm when its cold and wet outside too!)

We are going tomorrow :cheer2:

Woo Hoooooo!!!! :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1:

We've never done this before either but I'm planning on trying it this year. All DD wants to do at the moment is draw - not sure how she'll cope with the headphones bit, but I think Mushu is in it a bit so that may help?

If you do try it - let us know how you get on!!

Mushu is in the headphones bit, but that still wasn't enough to keep my DD interested :confused3.

Thanks.

We will try it from the start and see how he gets on, thanks though for letting me know we can just do one bit.

Will let you know how we get on.

great stuff, I hope you all enjoy it - and woop woop its tomorrow :cheer2::cheer2:!

We did this for the first time in June. Tbh I found the bit with the headphones off putting as you could hear the French over the top of the English on the headphones - it was like listening to an echo but in a different language. My eldest DD (just turned 7 at time) was OK sitting but was starting to get bored, my DD2 (just turned 4 at time) wasn't that interested. Until we got into the drawing area - they both really enjoyed this hands on place and the things you could do.

If I were to go again, I wouldn't honestly bother with the middle bit - would just go into the animation room - which I didn't know you could do until Elaine said! If you've got lots of time, go for it, but I personally wouldn't try and squeeze it in over something else with a small child. Unless he is desperate to sit through it.

Enjoy your trip - Halloween just looks amazing this year ::yes:::banana:.

Thanks

Very excited about going tomorrow.:cool1: We have not been since last December and it feels ages. The halloween stuff looks fab.

Just to let you know. Elaine we took your advice about art of animation and went in through the exit. It was fab, unfortunately we didn't do the drawing bit at the desks but the interactive stuff was really good. Especially in the rain.

Thanks for the advice.
