Art of Animation-are the pull down and sleep sofa comfortable?

Would anyone else be hesitant to stay in the family suites since there's only one "real" bed? Can anyone report on how comfortable/uncomfortable the pull down bed and sleep sofa are? From my experiences with sleep sofas, I've never been impressed, and certainly wouldn't want to sleep on one for a week long vacation. I realize the resort hasn't been open long, but I'm wondering if anyone can report on the beds.

I thought the table bed is a real bed, regular mattress on a platform instead of box springs? I'm curious to see some pics and hear reviews.

One of my friend's parents stayed at AoA and said that those pull down beds felt hard. I don't know if that's because they are brand new, or if they are hard in general.

Yes they both are pretty comfortable. My 4 year old son slept on the pull down bed for 5 nights. I slept with him one night and thought it was better then the sofa bed. The other 4 nights I slept on the sofa bed with my 19 month old daughter. There were spots in the bed that were just hard and the first night I didn't sleep good at all. By night 2 I had figured out where the hard spots were and slept fine. I didn't have any back pain or anything from sleeping on them so to me that's a plus.

We're booked to stay in a Cars room in October and I totally plan on sleeping on the pull down bed.

I'm glad to see this thread. We're going in December (Nemo) and my mom, who has a bad back, will be sleeping on the pull down. My husband is even willing to switch her for the queen if it's too rough for her, but none of us will get any sleep if they're hard beds. Would any of you subject your 60-something mom to the fold-down?

Is the pull down bed the same size as a double? Or is it smaller? Can 2 older teens/adults sleep on it?

I guess I'm just failing to see the draw of a family suite vs. 2 rooms. The only extra thing I see you getting with the family suite is the kitchenette. If you get 2 rooms even though you lose the kitchenette, you get 4 real beds instead of 1. I guess there's something for everyone at Disney and that's just my preference.

I like that the bedroom in the suite has a queen bed for the parents. It's so much more comfortable for the adults to have the larger bed. When you combine that with the small fridge/freezer combo, microwave and coffee maker in the kitchenette, the suite looks even better.

see that's my thinking too and with 5 people we often do 2 rooms. I think the draw for some with a suite is they are guaranteed to be together since Disney can't guarantee connecting rooms and families don't want to separate. I've only had one trip where our rooms weren't connected and that was probably my fault since I totally forgot to put in the request til we checked in and it was over the holidays. We did get offered to move to connecting rooms 3 days in but we were fine just being 2 doors down. To me the cost benefits and 4 beds outweigh the need to be all in 1 room. For MY family and wallet 2 rooms works better for us.

Looking forward to hearing more about these beds...we did the Family Suites as ASMu last family trip and will consider the AofA for our June, 2013 trip only if the pull down bed is comfortable as adults will be sleeping in it! For us, the kitchenette is a big +...we love having breakfast in the room (food courts especially in the morning when they are crazy busy are NOT NOT NOT our thing) as it is such a nice calm start to the day and some can eat while others get ready.

The pull down (murphy bed) is as comfortable as the sofa pull-out bed. They are both the same size and 2 older tens can sleep on it. We had three kids (two 7 and one 4) sleep on the murphy bed with Nemo and they were very comfortable. In addition, 2 adults and 1 child can sleep good in the murphy bed or sofa bed. The queen size bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and slightly softer than the two other beds. I have pics of my opening week stay in another thread if you'd like to see them.
