I've just got in having sent off for the application for my passport renewal. I have been to snappy snaps and got the photos done, the post office to send it special delivery, but.....

I have just realised that i didn't write the barcode application number on the back of the cheque i sent.

I hope it doesn't cause a problem

Did you keep a copy of your application or your barcode number for your own records before you sent it? It shouldn't be a problem as they will cash the cheque first and they won't do that unless they have matched it to the application, They take your cash before they submit the application for processing

Yeah i wrote down the barcode number for me, just forgot to write it on the back of the cheque.
Maybe they will write it on their themselves.

Phone them and let them know. If nothing else you can get some reassurance by providing them with your barcode details, and the cheque number and details. They don't separate them. They open the envelope, log the cheque payment with your application and then process when it is cleared. It's not like the cheque is arriving in a separate envelope. And I woudn't assume for a moment that you are the first to do this - I would imagine you are in very good company.

It's arrived my brand spanking new passport and it only took 7 days. Just shoved through the letter box about 10 mins ago, he didn't even knock as i saw him walking away.
So it didn't make any difference that i forgot to write the barcode application number on the back of the cheque.

Love the new design, well the pictures anyway. Not sure about having all the details in the front of the passport and i have to say the details page itself is really really flimsy compared to my old one. Oh and there's 2 photo images in the new design, as if one of me wasn't enough

I'm going to have to take great care of it!

So glad it arrived!

I think the photos in the front are much more logical to be honest. I dont know why the UK has always insisted on having our faces stuck in the back.

Hope mine arrives that quickly! Sent it off in a rush last Friday as it would have expired before the cruise but I need it back for my earlier trip! Used the post office checking service to play safe!
