Where to begin.....
My dear Dad is currently re-decorating my Daughters room, being retired he jumped at the chance when I mentioned I was going to do it, so I said he could do it for me.
To start with I told him that she wanted 3 walls painted with white matt emulsion and the other wall was going to be wall-papered.
I came home to find he had done all 3 walls in silk paint not matt which meant I then spent the next 2 days sanding all the walls down as i was told you can't put matt paint over silk. If i hadn't of then he was just going to paint right over the top with the matt saying "It will be fine"
I love him to bits but his painting skills are not what they used to be and i ended up having to go over large areas which he had missed.(not that i minded)
However... yesterday he wall-papered the one wall and I have to say he has made a real hash of it. You can see every single join, one piece doesn't even match up to the next bit, he has overlapped the paper on some drops and others have a gap between the papers so you can see the wall slightly.
I don't know what to do, one the one hand I am really grateful that my Dad has done it as I certainly could not hang wallpaper, but on the other hand it looks terrible and at £20 a roll it wasn't cheap.
He has said it's because the walls aren't straight being an old house, the paper is bad and so is the light, which did make me smile as I felt like saying "so it had nothing to do with your eyesight then"
I could cry!!!
