ARRRRGH! MyTwinn rant...

Yes, all the way from China without a scratch. The hair is not quite what we expected...itmight be the wrong color or is a lot darker than the picture in the book. It doesn't look like the dark blond we ordered, but maybe it is. Other than that possible error, the box contained all the items we ordered. The hair was a little wildly rumpled, but so is DD's, so that's okay!:D

She poses anyway I tried to move her. It is cute. She is flexible and soft down to mid forearm and lower leg....a nice doll.

I ordered the matching outfit that I thought would fit, but the pants are HUGE....I think they'd fit me:o The matching sweater looked like it would be okay, so I might just buy some black leggings to pair with her matching sweater.

We'll wait to put the 2 dolls side by side before we decide what to do with the AG doll. The darker hair color on the MT is worrying DH. If anyone has a My Twin with dark blond hair(the second choice on the first row) what does it look like? I think this one might actually be the 2 tone golden brown or brown. We can sort that all out after Christmas though. I have something to put under my tree now!!!! Merry Christmas to all!!!!
 
DD's hair is blond, but I don't remember what one! It is a fairly light one, but the doll is 4 yrs old and the choices may be different? I also think they used to make/ship them from here as turnaround was not that bad. We had to send her back because her hair was wavy blond and DD's is straight shiny blond! It did not take more than 3 weeks back then to send her and get her back, hair redone and no charge! But that was back in the early days of My Twinn I suppose. We had the other doll(beanie sister) fiasco more recently.
They are fun to pose and dress alike! DD has had so many outfits, even the pink leotard/tutu! :D
 
Thank goodness she arrived for you. Raleigh might be a sorting facility. We are not giving up home on this end yet.

I am glad you are happy with her quality. Does her hair look the same as in the catalog or website? I ordered brown for my daughter. She is supposed to be dressed in the On The Fringe outfit.

Our Twinn Doll was shipped from China on November 13th. Tomorrow marks 1 month in transit via slow boat.

I will keep you updated on when it arrives.
 
One more update....While she doesn't have a scratch on her, she does have a broken arm. The shoulders both move fine, but one of the forearms' joints isn't attached or something. My DH inspected it good this morning noticed that was not quite right. We took her sweater off to see if we could see what the problem was. We couldn't see why that section of arm just kind of hangs, but part of the stitching isn't holding tight either.

But again...it here, so I can deal with broken bones and the need for stitches after Christmas. Just an FYI for others receiving dolls to check them out pretty carefully.

Does anyone know if when she ges back to have her arm reset, can they do a breast reduction also?? She is a little heavy chested for my petite DD.:eek:
 

On the My Twinn website they have a FAQ which explains their hospital procedures. I hope the hospital is the USA!!!

I didn't know these dolls were so chesty.

She arrived today!!!!!!!! No broken bones, and everything is in order. I had requested freckles to be put on her, they did put them on her, but they are very very faint. Difficult to see.

As for extra clothing, which size is best? 0 to3 months, or 3 to 5 months?
 
Yeah!!! Two dolls in two days. We're on a roll now! Glad no broken bones there. I read in the doll hospital information they will have to replace the whole body. They can't fix broken joints. Do both your "elbows" hold position? One does here, one does not. Both shoulders move and hold also. Feels like the joint above the hard part of one arm isn't connected...it just kind of hangs. Will you check yours and verify something isn't quite right on mine?
 
I just checked her and I can move her arms up and down and move them in a way that she is holding her hands together almost. I hope that answers your question. Nothing is hanging limp in the arms. I put her arms over her head - my DH came in the room at the point, thought it was funny!!!

She can also bend sideways at the waist a bit too. Pretty neat.

Besides your hair color, do you feel like yours resembles your daughter? I wish our freckles were darker, they are like pin points. It is amazing they could make them so so tiny.
 
I'm actually warming up to the hair color. It was much better in natural light. Still darker than we expected.

I do think when we put DD in a matching sweater, it will look like it supposed to look like her. It isn't uncanny like the red head in braids on the cover, but dressed alike, there will be a resemblance.

I'm sorry they didn't check for broken arms in China though. It is a shame they mailed out a broken arm doll. It is supposed to take 5 weeks to repair. Is that 5 weeks "our time", or 5 weeks "My Twinn time"...i.e. about 11 months!!;)

These dolls are expensive and popular. I am glad my doll was not defective and we do have it for Christmas.

I worry for my3kids because her doll is damaged and now how can it be repaired?

I am sitting here in a complete panic. Fortunately DD has never requested a MT doll. She loves the AG. But my best friend's daughter is supposed to be receiving a MT for Christmas. Not sure if she has received it yet and it is too early in the morning to call her and find out! Last I knew she was waiting for it. But she only ordered it about mid-November. YIKES!! I'm quite sure she knows nothing about all this garbage going on! I will wait patient until 9am and then call her immediately. She will need to hustle to to find some sort of replacement if she hasn't received the MT!! Wish I had seen this thread much sooner!!...........P

I held off calling her until 9am and then I couldn't stand it. NOOOOOOOO.........she hasn't received it yet and today is 12/21!!!!! She was feeling confident she would receive it.... that is, until I called!!!!!!! I put her panic mode when I told her all I had read here. (She ordered 11/19). She immediately went out and bought a "substitute doll" to have on hand in case it doesn't arrive by Wed. Unfortunately she wasn't in a financial position to be able to order an Am. Girl with express shipping. But I told her about the My Generation dolls at Target. She really appreciated the heads-up. So thanks to all my Dis board friends out there !!!!I will let you all know if she ever gets it!! ..............Merry Christmas.........P
 
The Target dolls are beautiful. Her daughter will love a doll at Christmas, even if it isn't the one Santa intended to bring!
