ARRRRGH! MyTwinn rant...

I ordered a doll from MyTwinn in mid October for Christmas. It shipped 20 days ago and still is not here. The company actually ships through the post office, and not even first class. I have no way to track the package, and MyTwinn won't issue a search order for another 4 days. They charged $14.00 shipping for what must be bulk rate delivery. I have never had something that expensive shipped through non traceable means. I assumed it was coming UPS or FedEx. Now I have to call my credit card company and find out what I have to do about paying for something that I have not yet received. ARRRGH...I am MAD! If this one never arrives, it takes a month or so to make a personalized doll, so if this one is AWOL, Santa is out of luck.

If I remember correctly it did take forever for my daughter's doll to arrive last year. Don't give up!

I'm so sorry. I haven't bought a MyTwinn yet, but had a similar experience buying a doll from another company. Good luck and I hope Santa gets what he needs!!

I ordered a My Twinn doll as well on October 18th and we are still waiting too. We keep hoping it will show up on the porch when we get home. So deliver is very slow?

stormi: Did you get an email notice of when it was shipped? I guess the company is just horrible in general with getting merchandise where it was supposed to go...maybe mine isn't lost in the mail. But with no tracking number, I have no way to know.

No I haven't. I am going to call today and see it it has even been shipped yet. We ordered some clothes and accessories with it also.

We assumed since the website and catalog stated a 4 week turnaround time the doll should have been here by now.

stormi: I went back and checked. I placed my order on Oct. 17. I hope you called to check to see if yours had shipped yet. That is a long time for them to not have finished building the doll.

I will not order from this company again. When (and if) I ever get what I ordered, I am going to buy matching sister outfits from Gap Kids and Baby Gap, as long as the infant outfits will fit the doll.

We waited forever and then the doll looked NOTHING like my daughter. I ended up selling it on eBay.

So I e mailed them asking for an update. I will come and post when I get a reply as to when it might be delivered. I thought ordering in mid October gave us plenty of time before the rush!!!

A very good friend of mine bought two of these dolls last October and she never received hers till the first part of December so dont give up yet. I know its frustrating waiting for something so special to come. If it doesnt come I would think the company would refund your money. I have never bought anything from this company before but I know a couple of items never showed up from QVC and they took it off my credit card. Best of luck. Have faith it will show up this week.

I just wanted to say that I love the quality of the My Twinn Dolls. I have a few that I bought off of ebay (Not trying to have them look like anyone) and I love them. I have them all dressed for Christmas now. I have them displayed with my Lee Middleton Dolls.

trola2: Thanks for the link. If I ever get the doll, I'll order from that site. That yellow plaid & denim dress set in the fall fashions is beautiful!

I'll be patient another couple of days. Sounds like if I ever get it, the quality will be good! I hope it looks like her when it comes. (They have an interactive thing on the website now where you build a virtual doll and see what it will look like before it is ordered. The face shape was what was killing us. The one we selected from the catalogue looked nothing like DD when we virtually built her. It took something completely unexpected to get a resemblance.)

I know when you get the doll she will be beautiful. I can't wait to hear. My girls are way into American Girl dolls and my 3 yo thinks she should have one, too. That was quite a dilemna for Cmas. I knew that if she got one, the hair would be on end within 10 minutes of opening and I just wasn't ready to go there. So I think we solved it with a my Generation doll at Target. Got a nice doll trunk and horse to go with it, too. Price was reasonable, even when the hair gets yucky it will be fine. You hate to get a nice doll and they end up looking like Phyllis Diller before the end of the day. (ok..showed my age...and I'm meaning the old Phyllis Diller before the extreme makeover and before she was the Queen on Bug's Life!lol)

trola2 LOL!!! That was the exact experience I had with my DD at about that age....a little older, probably 4. She wanted an American Girl doll...I wasn't ready for that yet! I got the beautiful doll at Target..you know what she said....."This isn't an American Girl doll!" I couldn't pull the wool over that one's eyes! Of course, she loved "Beth" but I was so surprised that tiny little things in pig tails would be so brand specific!

Target's trunks and furniture are wonderful, aren't they?? I would never pay for American Girl furniture when I can get that at Target. Great store!

I am to the point that when I have something shipped, I pay the few extra dollars to do express shipping. This way I get it faster, and it is traceable.

Still no doll today. I called my local post office and they don't have it there. Said no way should it have taken this long from Denver...regardless of what class postage they paid for.

At what point do I call the Better Business Bureau and my credit card company?


Sandraamc: I ordered in mid October, I didn't think we'd need express shipping for this item. But yes, once it hits December, I opt for express unless it is Jos. Bank who always gets things here immediatly. Hooray for the companies that do a good job. MyTwinn isn't one of them!

Wow! I've heard other deliver "horror" stories abt this company.

I ordered an American Girl doll for my dd. It's georgous!! I had it in my hands one week after ordering. I've been to their str on 5th ave too. All their dolls are very high quality.

Yes, AG has always had excellent shipping, delivery and customer service.
