We arrive after 11:30 pm on June 9th and plan on checking in to the POR and going straight to bed to rest up for the MK the next day:banana: My question is this...we are getting the meal plan and as you know it is required for each day of your stay. That means I have to pay $162.00 for the DDP on the 9th when we will never use it:headache: Now I know that the credits can be used later during our stay for the most expensive restaurants but we already have chosen where we want to dine and are happy:thumbsup2 Is there a way to avoid paying for the DDP on the 9th?

Not sure when you are checking out, but I'm using the credit that we won't use on first day for breakfast on our last day.

You could book room only for your first night and start your package the next day (if a room-only reservation is available for that night). You'll have two separate reservations and you have to make two deposits. There is some risk you may have to change rooms. You have to re-check in the next morning. We've had two reservations before and they will tie them together and try not to move you. We haven't had to move when we've done this, but no guarantees.

You could always change your reservation to be a room only the first night. This would mean you would have to check in again the next morning, and possibly have to move, but it would save you the money on the DDP.

Nope. The DDP is part of the package, so you can't pick and choose how many days you have it for. You automatically get it for how many nights you are there.

However....you do know you can use the credits whenever you want during your stay, right? For instance, you could use those credits later in your trip even if it's not for the "most expensive restaurants". You could make ADR's for an extra character breakfast one morning, and use the CS credits to get breakfast at the food court your last morning.
