Hi there, we are arriving at VWL on New Years day and have a grocery store stop planned (we are using Quick Sliver Transportation.) It just occured to me that many stores might be closed for new years. We really need to stop and get food and water. Any ideas of stores that don't close on New years day?

I have accept the fact it is very likely our room won't be ready (VWL our home resort) like it normally is. I have accepted the parks will be crowded so we are not going to try the Parks until Jan 2. We hope to just swim, explore the resort, maybe go over to Fort Wilderness, I hear there is some kids activies there (we will have 2 year old DD and 12 year old Niece with us.) Do they have those bikes that 4 people can ride on at WL?

hopefully your driver will have suggestions - otherwise you can call these places and see if they will be open

yes they have the surrey bikes - but I don't think it is included in the bike and boat plan.

make sure you ask about being the "flagg family" - take the resort tour - walk around the place it is lovely!

There shouldn't be any problem with the stores. Pretty much everything in Orlando stays open all the time, unlike home stores. You are probably right that people will be stretching their check-out times to the limit tomorrow so don't count on getting in the room until 4:00 and prepare to keep the essentials with you. The parks may actually not be too bad tomorrow. The crowds drop as people have to get home, especially those that are down with parade groups, etc.

On the upside, it looks like the weather should be terrific. Have a great time and don't forget to let us know your impressions when you get back!

Happy New Year!!

You may want to check with MS and see if the store at VWL is open. I suspect it will be.

If you're just trying to stock up for the first night, this might be your best option, although a tad more expensive for some items.

Also, if you decide to use this option, you can fax your food order ahead, and they will deliver directly to your room. ::yes::
