still be happening??? I notice that AK is closing at 7 each night while we are there. Is it safe to say that the new show won't be happening? No night time safari or the lit up Tree of Life???

To a certain degree, some hours are actually being posted about mid the month before and has all year long. I would plan on AK at night happening, not as late as the sun will be going down earlier than in summer and around middle of sept we'll see if or how the hours adjust and know more.. AKA have a plan B but wait until october to change anything.

Jungle book will be gone, I doubt rivers of light will have started or they would marketing the hell out of it to get more people to visit this fall. Safari at night is just a bumpy car ride with someone point out shadows you can't really see saying they are the animals. Kali and everest on the other hand are amazing and the tree is interesting to watch.

I arrive the same day and there's been no confirmation one way or the other. Hours should be extended soon if it's going to happen.

This is one time I actually disagree with that. After things fell apart last minute in April, I think they will be much more cautious with this ROL launch. You might have to know a secret handshake just to get into the theater. ;)

I'm kind of back and forth on this also, it is a huge black eye on disney and they did hype the hell out of it for coming this summer so I can see them quietly launching this show. I think in context of this thread through, plan on it happening but be ready to alter your plans closer to or on your trip.

I agree on that. I still think they must have a pretty good indication that it's actually going to happen in October since they cancelled MSEP for early in the month. I think they are hoping the night crowds will shift over there.

I would not be surprised if there was select nights starting in october for ROL so they can get some excitement going to possibly bring in those that aren't coming this fall because osbourne lights is gone. quietly opening in oct with late oct marketting to come for nov/dec. MSEP is a budget thing, peopel aren't lining up like they used to in order to watch it. They also need somethign after all the 60th stuff dies off to get locals excited over there again. If I was a DL local, I would be thrilled to be able to see MSEP again. in WDW, it's not the same excitement at least to me.

But locals don't make up a huge percentage of WDW's visitors. My friend is a regular visitor but hasn't been in 2 or 3 years. Many don't get there often enough for MSEP to be stale to them.

I'm talking from first hand experience of what I've observed this summer. I don't disagree with you, but in the parks it's not packed parade crowds like it used to be.. My daughter made the comment that she would be sad to not see it.. Disneyland can be a destination to see it and it won't stay there forever, it'll move on and eventually come back..

Isn't attendance in general down this summer?

I actually have seen MSEP many times (both in the MK and at DCA), but would be more disappointed in the lack of any light parade in the MK than in the absence of that particular one.

It feels lower than the frozen years but it's not what I would call low crowd. Rides still get up to 45-60 minutes and you need to be an acrobat to walk down the street with everyone going slow and taking up the whole walkway still.

I also agree, I want somethign, I'm kind of done with MSEP and have been for many years.. I am excited to see somethign new and hope it happens.

Attendance is noticeably down this summer. We've gone the same weekend in July a couple of times now and there were way fewer people in the parks this year than last.
