The title says it all! We need a room for one night, flying in late to Sanford. I dont want to spend much to sleep for six hours or so, but DH won't like a dive, either. Any suggestions, doesn't have to be right in Kissimmee, as we will have a drive from Sanford anyway. Locals, what do you think??

We're arriving after 10pm too and need one night someplace. We're flying into Orlando and I'm watching Hotwire for a cheap place. I got the tip here.:thumbsup2

Hi, we always do www.priceline.com for the best deal. We bid two rooms 2 1/2 star for about $35 a couple of days before we go. If you bid "any area around Disney including the airport, you might do a 2 star for $30.

For just one night it works fine...other old standby is Motel 6 for a night...Motel prices in smaller hotels are really low around Disney, expecially on Priceline. My son used to get Sheraton Lakeside two star for about 23 dollars, but I have seen nothing that low for a while.

If Priceline does not interest you try www.hotels.com for standard discounts but Priceline really is less expensive...all the best...Ted

I reserved a non smoking suite (two double beds and a queen sofa sleeper) for 49.95 at Travelodge Suites Kissimmee Main Gate for the night. It is the best I have found so far that will sleep all five of us comfortably. I booked directly with them, so I can cancel up to 24 hours before without penalty. Good luck to you!

Last year we spent the night before at the Hyatt right at the Orlando MCO Airport. We had a great time exploring the hotel and the airport shops! We did not pay much for it either as I bid on it on priceline (4 star, pool, resturant, etc when looking). The big plus was we were able to save a day on the rental car!

Last yr., we were in the same position. I was holding a room at an airport hotel that I was able to cance up until 24hrs ahead with no chg. A week before our trip, I bid on priceline for a 3 1/2-4star, at an airport hotel for $50. You couldn't go wrong with any of the choices that we could have gotten. We ended up getting the Hyatt at MCO. It was great going right from baggage claim over to the hotel without waiting for a shuttle.

Hyatt treated us no different then anyone else. We had a great room for 3, and they even gave us a an extra bed, no charge!

I printed off directions from mapquest, it is 50 miles, estimated 55 minutes. This works out for us, we will be staying in Kissimmee for the week, DH figures just drive there at night and be ready for a fun filled day the next day.

I forgot to say, we have flown into Sanford before, and we were very happy. THe airport is smaller, much less hectic, easier to get a rental car (much shorter lines, less confusion). My kids are older and easier now, but MCO was torture with three little ones! The rental car line alone (at MCO) almost put us over the edge before our vacation even started.
