We arrive January 2 and am wondering are the parks still really busy at that time? Thanks in advance.

As long as it isn't a weekend you will be fine. The kids are back at school, the parks close early again and things are quieter.

I wouldn't count on it dying down that soon this Jan (2013).Most schools are out till Jan 7th due to the way the calendar and holidays fall.
