Please give me some suggestions of where we could spend the night before we check into RPR. We'll be arriving about 9:00pm the night before our reservation. We want something inexpensive but not a "roach" motel :sad2:

thanks for the help :wave2:

I had the same situation only in reverse. Our plane leaves @ 6 am and I didn't want to pay such high $ if only going to be in the hotel for a few hours, plus I wanted something closer to the airport. I went to priceline and got Amerisuites for only $39. When I called to request non smoking the guy @ the front desk said the room would normally be $154, or $145 I can't remember. Either way it wasn't close to what I paid. I have never done priceline before but so far I like what I see. :)

We got a much better airline price flying in the night before I had planned, so we are staying at the Comfort Suites Universal Studios Area on Major Blvd. (There is another Comfort Suites in the Universal area, but this one seems to be newer) Having 3 kids with us sometimes makes it difficult to find rooms, I got this one for $89.99 and it has free breakfast. Not necessarily inexpensive, but much less than our RPR Club rate! And since we haven't stayed there yet, I realize this isn't all that helpful, but you can check it out online.

Stayed at the Fairfield International Cove/Drive our last night. Was a great place to stay for the money $59.00....and included breakfast.

We stayed at the La Quinta for the last days of our vacation because we ended up being able to extend over Easter after all (woo hoo) but couldn't extend at the resort because they were full (big shocker there! LOL)
La Quinta was very clean(cleaner than our Disney room had been when we arrived), new and had a phenomenol continental breakfast with belgium waffles (fresh made) bagels, fresh fruit, juice, milk, etc. and we got a rate of $59 a night. Hope this helps.

The street called American Way (about a mile away from Universal) has a pretty decent Motel 6 for around $50 a night.

We got a Hampton In 4 years ago on Priceline for $45. 2 years ago, we got the Crowne Plaza for $48 through Priceline. I wanted an airport hotel so we wouldn't have to pay for transportation to the hotel and the towncar service picked us up in the morning at the hotel. Both of them were lovely and comfortable for one night before BWV. I'd do this again in a heartbeat.

Thanks everyone for your responses. This has been a great help. I know that I can always count on the diser's for help !!! :goodvibes

We stayed at the La Quinta at 5825 International Drive. I kept the ad because it was so nice! If you need the number feel free to PM me, I don't think I'm allowed to post it here, well I don't really know, but I'm not taking the chance. LOL

My recommendation is the Best Western directly across the street. It's a small hotel, but they have free breakfast. That's why it's slightly more than the famous MovieLand BW.
