Arriving early at the parks

I was wondering how early we should arrive at the parks. We are staying at the sheraton vistana resort in september. Is this considered the low season? we have a rental car.

We always aim to get there 30-60 minutes ahead of opening and there are always people in front of us. We like to get in early because the lines are long and you can get in a lot of rides in the first hour.

We have arrived at opening time in October, and it was okay, but not as nice as being one of the first in the park.
